[Hiroshima Prefecture] An ancient temple on Miyajima in Aki, a World Heritage Site! Daisho-in Temple with a spectacular view of autumn foliage
Miyajima in Aki, home to Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site that represents Hiroshima.
Daishoin is the oldest temple on Miyajima, standing on a hill about a 5-minute walk from the main hall of Itsukushima Shrine.
It is enshrined as the head temple of Itsukushima Shrine.
Because it is on a slightly elevated area, the long approach to the main hall is quite difficult.
The approach and grounds are filled with Buddha and Kannon statues, cute Jizo statues, Enma statues, Karasu Tengu, 500 Arhats, and other unique stone statues such as Anpanman and Kappa, making it a fun temple that feels like a treasure hunt.
Above all, the autumn leaves are a sight to behold! They are elegantly beautiful.
Personally, I think Henjoin, located at the very back, is fantastic and interesting.
