#cherryblossom25 If you're looking to escape the crowded, well-known spots and find a hidden gem for cherry blossoms, Daiji Temple in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, is the place to be. This ancient temple is nestled against the mountains and by the sea, where the cherry blossoms blend seamlessly with the Tang-style architecture. The gentle sound of ocean waves mixes with the serene temple chants, creating the perfect environment to experience the essence of wabi-sabi. Ideal for those who love to capture minimalist, calm cherry blossom shots and prefer exploring lesser-known, peaceful destinations. 📸✨ Transportation and Cherry Blossom Tips 🌸 From Kansai (Osaka/Kyoto): Take the JR limited express to Matsusaka Station, then transfer to a bus to Shima City Hall. After a 10-minute walk, you’ll reach the temple. From Nagoya: Take the Kintetsu limited express to Ugata Station, then transfer to a direct bus (limited service, so check the schedule in advance). Best Viewing Period: Late February to mid-March, which is about one month earlier than the typical Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms. This is Mariko (@mariko000001) on a weekend getaway☺️ 🏷️Mie trip summary #mariko_mie It's called "Shima's Hydrangea Temple" because of the 1,500 hydrangeas blooming in the temple grounds💜 It's a small temple, but the many hydrangeas were in full bloom and it was so beautiful that I went there two days in a row😆lol The Hydrangea Festival and Hydrangea Marche will be held on 6/8 and 6/9.
