Locate [Naomugen Sumu], and there will be a sign pointing to a road that leads directly to it. Or you can also locate [Dahongshan] directly, but there are several Dahongshan on the map of China, so be sure to check if it is close to Naomugen Sumu.

There are few cars on the road, but there are some sections, especially the section close to Dahongshan, with many shell holes. Be sure to slow down and avoid them. If the car has a flat tire or breaks down here, there may not even be a mobile phone signal, and you won't be able to call for help. 🏡Accommodation: Hotels in Sunite Right Banner or Chayouhou Banner, the price is less than 100 yuan per night (the price will increase during holidays). 🚗Be sure to fill up the gas before departure, after all, it is an uninhabited area. The one-way trip takes about 1-2 hours, and Chayouhou Banner is closer to Dahongshan. 📸Including driving routes up the mountain and ground driving directions. The two best shooting spots can be viewed through Baidu or Gaode's satellite map mode. You can stop and take photos along the mountainside. ‼ ️If you want to take pictures of the sunrise at Urhada Volcano, you can go to the volcano first, then have brunch, and then go to Dahongshan. You can arrive at 2-3 pm. The scenery along the way is also very charming and you can stop and walk. I chose to go directly to Erenhot for accommodation after sunset, so I didn't stay to take pictures of the starry sky and the Milky Way. If you are not in a hurry, you can camp on the top of Dahong Mountain or take pictures of the Milky Way. This is a level 1 black area with no light pollution, which is very suitable for photography. 🔴After arriving at Dahong Mountain, there will be a lot of beautiful stones and Gobi stones on the ground, which you can also pick up. 🟥 If you find something interesting on the way, Or if you want to get off the car to take pictures, you must be resolute. Clothing: A windbreaker is a must to keep out the wind, Martin boots make you look cool, and long johns are indispensable. If you want to wear a denim skirt or Maillard style, be sure to bring a thick coat. During the National Day holiday, I wore fleece leggings and jeans to keep me warm. Car: It must be off-road. You can go up and down the mountains and it brings a lot of fun to off-roaders. The second choice is SUV. Sedans actually have no problem on the highway, but when you reach Dahong Mountain, it may be a bit difficult to park closer or even take travel photos in the car. The car is bumpy on the mountain, and although it can leave car tracks, it is still not very friendly to the chassis, so the driver needs to pay attention and be careful. Note: For off-road and high fuel consumption vehicles, you must quickly reach the gas station at the destination to refuel. Many friends often decide to refuel on the way back after shooting, but off-road friends will worry about the fuel level when they go up the slope and give up the fun. What to bring: Aerial photography and cameras are essential for professionals. If you want to capture the atmosphere, bring a camping chair. For lunch, you must heat it up and break some instant noodles. Others: The road from Hohhot to Dahongshan is very easy to drive, and you may even feel sleepy while driving.
