Every time we go, the place is packed, so you have to get there early, or you'll be waiting a long time. 🌞Seafood Congee in Clay Pot: After trying seafood congee in other places, I still think this restaurant's version is the freshest and sweetest. They use fresh ingredients, and every grain of rice is soaked with delicious broth, soft but still chewy. The rich aroma fills your nose, and one sip warms you to the core. I really love it. 🌞Chao Pai Chaoshan-style Raw Pickled Seafood: Raw pickled prawns are the restaurant's specialty. The freshness of the shrimp is okay, but the sauce is very average, and the taste is quite different from authentic Chaoshan-style raw pickled seafood. I guess many locals aren't used to it. The value for money is so-so. 🌞Puning Fried Tofu: Highly, highly recommended! Who knew I could find authentic Puning fried tofu in Lanzhou? This is a relatively niche Chaoshan delicacy (compared to raw pickled seafood and Chaoshan beef), but they do it so well. The tofu is fried three times, so the skin is super crispy, but the inside is so tender it's practically oozing. Dip it in the chive sauce, and you'll know what I'm talking about. 🌞Chaoshan Kale Fried Beef: So delicious! The beef is marinated, so it's very tender, and the kale is crispy and fresh. The taste is authentic. Address: Chao Pai Chaoshan-style Raw Pickled Seafood Accommodation: Gladden Hotel 🌞After enjoying the food, we checked in to the Gladden S Hotel, which was very good overall. The hotel price is also affordable, the rooms are spacious, there is a large balcony, and there is a parking lot, which is really great. 🌞The hotel rooms are also very clean. Even with a lot of people sitting on the floor, clothes don't get dirty. The rooms have dehumidifiers, so they're not damp, and the blankets are also very clean, with no yellow stains.

I took my child on a road trip to Hainan during the holidays. Now let me tell you about my experiences along the way. 🌟 First, let's talk about the stunning photo spots📷: 💎 Qizi Bay (棋子湾): Qizi Bay has three bays: large, medium, and small. I went to the large and medium bays. The seawater is incredibly blue, the white sand is fine, and thatched umbrellas dot the beach, creating a perfect vacation vibe. There are also small, round stones and shells washed up on the beach. Every photo you take here looks like an Instagram post, super photogenic. 💎 Banyan Tree Beach (叶榕沙滩): This is a wild beach near Danzhou Ocean Flower Island. No filters needed! The sun, sand, waves, and cacti create a breathtakingly beautiful picture. It's so beautiful it leaves you speechless. Although the road to the beach is a bit rough, it's definitely worth a visit. 💎 Ocean Flower Island (海花岛): Ocean Flower Island is divided into three islands. Island 1 is a great place for sightseeing, while Islands 2 and 3 are mostly residential or B&Bs. If you're going sightseeing, choose Island 1. There's a free shuttle bus around the island. Buildings in various international styles are scattered around the island, and the wedding chapels are especially beautiful for photos, super Instagrammable. Food and drinks are readily available on the island, and there's also an amusement park, making it a great place to spend the whole day. 👻 Now, let's talk about the disappointments: ❌ Yulinzhou (鱼鳞洲) in Dongfang: Although Yulinzhou is a good place to watch the sunset, the seawater is yellowish, the waves are huge, and the sand is very coarse. It's impossible to stand barefoot without hurting your feet, and the surrounding environment is a bit dirty and messy. However, to be fair, the Yulinzhou Lighthouse is really beautiful and makes for great photos. ❌ Dongpo Academy (东坡书院) in Danzhou: After Su Dongpo was exiled to Danzhou, he started teaching and built the academy to improve local customs. I thought I could see the wonderful stories of Mr. Dongpo in Danzhou at the academy, but the park is very small, and there are very few exhibits about his local creations. It felt like a wasted trip. 🍲 Let's talk about the food along the way: 🥢 Dongfang's specialties, crispy roast suckling pig and lomein, are both sweet. I really couldn't stand them🙅. 🍜 Danzhou's Mǐ Làn (米烂) is a dry mixed rice noodle dish. It's quite fragrant and tastes pretty good. 🍤 Lingao's seafood is quite famous. We used our GPS to navigate to Lincheng Shengjin Seafood Market (临城盛金海鲜城) to buy seafood and then went to a restaurant to have it cooked. The seafood market isn't very big, but the prices are reasonable. 👀 Overall, compared to the cities on the east coast, the tourism infrastructure on the west coast is not yet fully developed, but this also gives it a more local feel, which is a unique travel experience.

The mountains, water, and giant rocks of the river valley blend perfectly, creating beautiful scenery. This place is beautiful, but unfortunately, we arrived too late, and it was almost dark. We took a few quick photos and headed back. The road to the river is narrow, so drive carefully. 2️⃣ Boat-shaped houses in Baicha Village. Free. Baicha Village is located in Jiangbian Township, Dongfang City, Hainan Province. It is the only well-preserved ancient Li "boat-shaped house" village in China and has become the preferred place for the Li people to trace their ancestors' survival marks. Legend has it that when the ancestors of the Li people landed on Hainan Island by wooden boat, they turned the boats upside down to live in because there was no place to live. To commemorate their ancestors, later generations of the Li people built thatched houses modeled after the shape of boats. The boat-shaped houses are built with mud mixed with straw for the walls and thatched roofs. The thick thatch on the roof extends to the ground, like an overturned boat, hence the name "boat-shaped house."

Legend has it that when the ancestors of the Li people landed on Hainan Island by wooden boat, they had no place to live, so they turned the wooden boat upside down to live in. To commemorate their ancestors, later generations of the Li people built thatched houses modeled after the shape of boats. The ship-shaped houses are built with mud and straw walls and thatched roofs. The thick thatch extends all the way to the ground, like an upside-down boat, hence the name "ship-shaped house". In 2008, the Li ship-shaped house construction technique was listed in the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List and was hailed as a "living fossil" of traditional houses of Chinese ethnic minorities. On November 24, 2015, the ship-shaped houses in Bozha Village were listed as the 8th batch of cultural relics protection units in Hainan Province. In March 2021, it was nominated for the "World Double Heritage Declaration" of Hainan Tropical Rainforest and Li Traditional Settlements. In December 2023, the Li ship-shaped house ancient village in Jiangbian Township, Dongfang City was designated as a "Three-Coconut-Level Rural Tourism Spot in Hainan Province". 📌Tips: After getting off Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park Tourist Highway, there is a parking lot. You need to park here and take a shuttle bus in. Round-trip tickets are 15 CNY/person for adults. Or you can walk in.
