The Eyuwan Revolutionary Base has always been known as the "cradle of the Red Army and the hometown of generals". A total of 341 founding generals emerged from the 30 old districts and counties. Among them, 108 were from western Anhui, accounting for 83% of the 130 founding generals in Anhui Province; among the 10 "general counties" in the country, Dabie Mountain accounted for five, and Lu'an City had 2 (Jinzhai County and the former Lu'an County).
