Vietnamese old house cafe in Ho Chi Minh City
If you can only visit one café in Saigon, it must be this one.
This café, seemingly converted from an ancient house, occupies a vast area and features a unique style, known as Vietnamese Wabi-Sabi. It exudes a strong ancient charm, resembling a visit to a grand ancestral home from bygone eras.
The interior murals are stunning, and there are many seating areas outside for a cool respite. I chose a back area with a tatami-style seating arrangement, leaning against a large French window, sipping a Matcha Latte. I observed the Vietnamese people outside taking photos, chatting, and daydreaming, attempting to pretend, if only for a moment, that I belonged to their world.
