I was pleasantly surprised 😊 but also a little disappointed 😔 1) Geographical location: (North) Jinshan Temple 2.9KM, (South) Nanshan Scenic Area 4.9KM, (West) Xijindu 1.6KM, (East) Beigushan 1000M, Jiaoshan 4.5KM, (Middle) CROWNE PLAZA. It is 3.5KM away from Zhenjiang Station, 1.4KM away from Zhenjiang Museum, 1.7KM away from Zhenjiang Science and Technology Museum, and 14KM away from China Vinegar Culture Museum. 2) Environment: The hotel faces the Yangtze River and has a wide view. It will be even better if you stay in a river view room. It has been thirteen years since its opening in 2012. There is no sense of oldness when entering the hotel lobby, corridors, elevators, and rooms (worthy of praise). I did not drive to the parking area (no comment). 3) Hardware: We stayed in a deluxe king-size room this time. The room is spacious, about 50 square meters. There is a foyer area at the entrance, a wash area (strange 🤔), a bathtub 🛁, a sink, and a toilet together, and a separate shower room. There are no smart devices in the room (very old school). 4) Service: The concierge at the door (poor ☹️) did not take the initiative to help guests with their luggage 🧳, and there was no service to open and close the car door! ! Robots can deliver (outdoor) meals upstairs. I did not experience (bed making service) during this stay. There are only a few high-end hotels in Zhenjiang, and Crowne Plaza is undoubtedly the best for river views. The hotel is right next to the river, and the floors are high enough to offer a great view. It's also close to the must-see Xijin Ferry and Jinshan Temple. Although it's not as eye-catching as the Hyatt, the location is unbeatable. The hotel lobby is double-height, with no fancy decorations, but the variety of lamps shows the attention to detail. The room style is like a business hotel from over a decade ago, but it's not dark. There's a desk by the window, and the minibar has a capsule coffee machine with 6 capsules, which is generous. The tea bags are from Chali. The bedroom has a bench at the foot of the bed and a sofa by the window. There's a familiar JBL speaker by the bed. The bedding is comfortable. Although the room facilities are a bit old, the hygiene is impeccable. It's a pity that the bathroom only has a single basin. The bathtub is built-in, and there's a set of small Borghese bottles. The shower has large bottles on the wall and a loofah. Overall, the location is top-notch, and the living experience is good. The lounge and breakfast are excellent. If you don't mind the old room style, this is a great choice.

The location is easy to find, and it is very close to the Baibaiyou and other blocks. You can walk to Xijindu Ancient Street in two steps. I checked in late and thought there would be no good room. I didn't expect to upgrade the river view room for free. I could see the river view from the window. After dinner in the hotel Chinese restaurant, I walked to the historical and cultural ancient street "Xijindu". It is definitely a good place to eat after dinner in the early summer night. I don't know why, but I haven't visited many places around Nanjing. For example, I haven't wandered around Chuzhou or Ma'anshan to the north. Perhaps these small surrounding cities are not considered tourist destinations. As for the slightly farther cities like Suzhou and Hangzhou, I only visited them for the first time in 2022 due to work. Speaking of Suzhou and Hangzhou, I used to feel that there was no rush to visit them and no particular reason to go. In fact, everything is arranged in the best way; the places you need to go will be arranged for you at the right time. Suzhou and Hangzhou, which are comparable to 'paradise,' are indeed my favorite cities. The impact of visiting them was so strong that I will write a separate article about them later. As a working person without a summer vacation, I still want to enjoy the feeling of a summer break. Since I can't travel far, I decided to explore the nearby areas. So, I set my sights on Zhenjiang Zhaohua Crowne Plaza. A Saturday points room costs 13,000 points, which is equivalent to only 430 yuan. Driving from Nanjing, taking the old National Highway 312, there are no tolls, and it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. The hotel is located by the river, with a Chunjiang Tide Plaza nearby, which reportedly has a musical fountain on weekend nights. River view rooms offer a view of the river from the room. It is a 1.8 km walk from the hotel to Xijin Ferry, a 1.3 km walk to Beigu Mountain, and a 1.5 km walk to Baibai Ban. To get to Jiaoshan or Jinshan, you need to take a bus or a taxi, but they are not far either. The hotel's layout is somewhat similar to the Qiantang Crowne Plaza in Hangzhou. Opposite the front desk is the lobby bar, the breakfast restaurant is at the back of the first-floor lobby, and the guest room elevators are not connected to the basement elevators.

In mid-May, I took the high-speed train from Beijing directly to Zhenjiang, stayed at the Zhenjiang Zhaohe Crown Plaza Hotel for three nights, visited Jingshan, Jiaoshan, Beigushan, and Xijindu, and tasted pufferfish🐡 and pot cover noodles. Suggestions: We still encountered the fluff from the plane trees during our visit, which was uncomfortable, so I suggest you could go earlier. Personally, I think the pufferfish and pot cover noodles are just average.

Zhenjiang, formerly known as "Runzhou", was once the capital of Jiangsu Province during the Republic of China period and enjoyed the reputation of "the best place in the world".
