|I stayed at a super comfortable hotel in Kyoto
I visited Kyoto, Japan, in mid-May and stayed at the Cross Hotel Kyoto on a friend's recommendation. This hotel is located in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and has a great location. It's just a few minutes' walk from Kawaramachi Station, which is very convenient! There are attractions such as the vinegar shop, Kiyamachi-dori Street, and the Ikedaya Incident Memorial, making it a lively and convenient area.
The hotel's location is truly unbeatable👍. Just outside the door is the bustling Kawaramachi shopping street, and there are many department stores and restaurants nearby, perfect for shopping and enjoying delicious food. The hotel's decor is modern yet retains a local Kyoto feel. The lobby is huge, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden. The check-in process was also super smooth, and the front desk staff were friendly and spoke English fluently. Our deluxe room was spacious, with a very modern bathroom and amenities. The bathtub and shower were separate, which was a thoughtful touch.💦
Speaking of the room experience, it was truly impressive. Our room not only had a large bathtub and a separate toilet, but also an electric kettle and a coffee/tea maker, perfect for guests who enjoy making their own drinks. A humidifier was also provided, which is especially useful during the dry winter months. The toiletries were my favorite verbena scent, with rich lather and no slippery residue after rinsing. The bedding and mattress were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep every night.
There are many recommended attractions and restaurants near the hotel. A few minutes' walk takes you to the Kamo River, where you can enjoy a coffee at the nearby Starbucks and watch egrets fly by, creating a unique atmosphere. There are also many delicious Japanese restaurants nearby, such as Oryori Hayashi and Gion Sasaki, which are not to be missed. If you like shopping, there are Loft, Uniqlo, and other stores nearby, perfect for some retail therapy!🛍️
Of course, no hotel is perfect. The downside of the Cross Hotel Kyoto is the limited breakfast selection, although the quality is decent, especially the toast. However, if you have high expectations for breakfast, you might be a little disappointed. Also, street noise can be heard in the rooms, which might bother guests sensitive to noise. The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, but there is a paid multi-story parking lot nearby, and you can ask the hotel for discount information in advance.
Overall, my stay was fantastic! I was very satisfied with the modern feel and convenience of the Cross Hotel Kyoto. I will definitely choose to stay here again when I return to Kyoto. I hope you also have a pleasant stay!🌸
