Crosby Beach
Crosby beach is located in Merseyside, 30 minute drive from St. Helens train station. It’s worth a long walk along the beach, even in winter. Along the beach is the art installation by Sir Antony Gormley called Another Place. This sees the statues at various points of the beach, in different stages of rising from the sand. There are 100 cast iron statues, all looking out to the horizon. Following the beach along, you should be wary of quicksand and stay around the paths others are taking. Always learn when the tide will come in to not be stuck on the beach.

The Lake House at Crosby
The Lake House is both a hotel on the seafront and a lovely restaurant/cafe to visit. There are a large number of tables and a decent range of food on offer. Spaces to sit outdoors are also available and drinks/food can be enjoyed with a sea view.
The Lake House is a decent cafe to visit before or after your walk along the beach and seafront, offering a continued view while you unwind.

The beach was stabilised from the mid 19th century, as prior to this, high sea tides could come in as far as the first row of houses.[2] In the older dunes north of the coastguard station, between the sea and the West Lancashire Golf Club, there are still some remains of the old wartime defenses. The navigable shipping channel in Liverpool Bay, connecting the River Mersey to the Irish Sea, runs parallel to the beach to around the coastguard station where it swings out to sea.

A unique and scenic coastal experience!
Crosby Beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning sea views. The highlight of this beach is the famous “Another Place” art installation by Antony Gormley, featuring 100 life-sized iron statues spread across the shoreline. It’s a surreal and fascinating sight, especially during low tide, when more of the statues are visible.
The beach itself is vast and unspoiled, perfect for long walks, photography, or just enjoying the fresh sea air. The sunsets here are particularly stunning, creating a breathtaking backdrop for the statues.
While swimming isn’t recommended due to strong tides, it’s a great spot for relaxation, picnics, and nature lovers. There’s also a coastal path leading to nearby cafés and parks, making it a great day out.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Liverpool area!

🌊 Crosby Beach Tranquil Retreat 🌅
Wandered along the serene shores of Crosby Beach, where each step on the vast expanse of sand felt like a dance with the tides. "Iron Men Horizon" greeted me, Antony Gormley's enigmatic sculptures standing sentinel against the ebb and flow of the Irish Sea. The distant sound of waves harmonized with the gentle whispers of the statues, creating a coastal symphony. As the sun dipped low, casting golden hues on the horizon, Crosby became a tranquil canvas where time paused, and the tranquil beauty of the coast unfolded. #CrosbyCalm #SeasideSunsetVibes

England's stunning beach, Crosby Beach in late autumn.
Crosby is located north of Liverpool. Get off at Waterloo and walk to Crosby Beach. The British sky in late autumn is unrealistically blue. In the afternoon, the golden beach, green grass, and sparkling sea collide with each other, forming a highly saturated and magnificent oil painting. Walking along the beach, you will see Anthony Gormley's sculptures, a collection called "Another Place," standing on the coastline. The post-industrial era has transformed Blackpool and Southport, which were once severely polluted and damaged, into scenes of harmony between humans and nature. Take a stroll on the beach, admire the beautiful scenery, appreciate the art, and think about the relationship between nature and humanity.
Although Crosby is not famous, it is really worth a visit. Heading north all the way to Blackpool, it offers a different flavor.
