I went to Shanghai on a business trip last year and the Courtyard by Marriott never disappoints. The hotel offers free alcoholic beverages in the lobby. The accommodation was clean and nice. I think the breakfast was a bit more expensive than I thought.

The location is in an area close to Shanghai Station. When I searched on DIDI, it was listed as Courtyard Shanghai Puxi. There were restaurants and convenience stores across the crosswalk. I didn't have a chance to eat there this time, but there was an ice cream machine in the lobby. 💰Price per person: The twin room was just over 15,000 yen per night without breakfast (I got breakfast and the lounge as a Marriott platinum member benefit). I thought this was one of the best value hotels among the Marriott hotels I stayed at on this trip to Shanghai. I recommend it (*´꒳`*)

The location and transportation are excellent, with the Hanzhong Road Station of Metro Lines 1, 12, and 13 within a 10-minute walk. If you're coming from Pudong Airport, it's convenient to take a bus to People's Square and then a taxi. The distance from Hongqiao Airport or Railway Station is also acceptable, at just over 10 km. The hotel is 3–4 km from the Bund, less than 3 km from People's Square, and only about 1 km from the Nanjing West Road business district, making it convenient for travel. Although there is no bathtub, the interior is clean and tidy, the bed is soft and comfortable, and the air conditioning and water supply system work well. The service is attentive. Upon check-in, guests receive exquisite small gifts and fruits, and the room is upgraded to a higher floor, which is delightful. In terms of dining, there is no lounge, and afternoon tea and happy hour (HH) are both on the first floor. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby bar. Although the variety is limited, it is also pleasant and comfortable, from 2 to 4 pm. HH is held in the western restaurant on the first floor, and the variety of dishes is similar to breakfast, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Breakfast is relatively simple. The gym requires a card to enter. Although the space is small, it is well-organized, with sufficient equipment and a small flow of people, providing a good exercise experience. Overall, this hotel is affordable and very suitable for business travelers. The Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Central, where I stayed for the first time, is located at 338 Hengfeng Road, Jing'an District, with a superior location, close to Shanghai Railway Station, and in the bustling core area of the city. The hotel lobby is bright and spacious, and the lobby bar is pleasant. The gym and swimming pool are on the 5th floor, and the executive lounge is on the 30th floor, which is comparable to the executive lounges of Renaissance and Marriott, with very rich afternoon tea and dinner. This time, due to the late booking, only twin rooms were available, which shows the popularity of the hotel. Although the room has slight soundproofing issues, they are almost negligible. This hotel is a model of Courtyard hotels in my heart, leaving a deep and beautiful impression on me.

Hotel sharing, this hotel might also be the last one I've stayed in Shanghai recently. The location is not very friendly right out of the subway station, requiring a bit of a bike ride, and Baidu maps are somewhat inaccurate. 𝟮. Check-in is after 2 PM, but you can leave your luggage first, then go out for a meal or grab a coffee and wait 🙄️ 𝟯. There's only one power outlet by the bed, which is used for the telephone 📞! Other places only have outlets near the business desk, including USB charging ports. So it's inconvenient to use your phone in bed. 𝟰. The TV screen is not big, and for a five-star hotel, the color deviation is quite severe! Sometimes there's only sound without a clear picture. 𝟱.
