A lovely weekend destination

I enjoyed a nice weekend staying in bristol's old city. While there were no raving feedbacks from people who had previously considered bristol for weekends. I thought my time was well spent and the city worked for me. Especially from the perspective of a weekend getaway. It allowed for a decent mix of different things. Iw as put up in the old city because iIstick with older parts of town and I'm into heritage. But otherwise too it think in case of Bristol the best backpacker options are here. So depending on your budget you may pick a place. There is stoke croft which has very good and decently priced backpacker options too. Other than that you have southville and Clifton too. Places that i visited during the weekend break and were nice. As for things to too, I would highly recommend a walking tour. It was a great way to get to know so much about a place and get insights from a local guide. Also, the Bansy trail that is part of some walking tours is super fun. There's a good mix of heritage, churches, harbor and landmarks like the cliffton suspension bridge to explore. It would allow come down to what sort of traveller you are what preferences. Clifton Suspension Bridge - Bristol, UK

This suspension bridge is built across the Avon Gorge, linking Clifton (Bristol) and Leigh Woods (North Somerset). This suspension bridge is built and opened in 1864. The bridge deck is suspended by 162 vertical wrought-iron rods in 81 matching pairs. It has been a venue for some significant events (e.g. handover venue of the Olympic Torch relay in 2012.) To get here, take No 8 circular bus from Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station and alight at Clifton Village. Brilliant views

While the cliffton suspension bridge is an engineering marvel, the views from the bridge and the views of the bridge from a distance were the highlight for me. You see we climbed all the way from the riverside. That was bit of a hike and may not be for everyone given its upwards. But spectacular views all along the way. Once you're at the bridge, there is parking nearby. There is a seperate path for pedestrians and I think I saw a washroom too near the visitor centre on the Somerset side. All Is Brighter in Bristol

🥾 We fancied a post-Christmas reunion with friends who live in the West Country. Bristol was just the city for a day trip. 🚆 Take the train from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads. The journey was 90minutes long on a comfortable GWR train. 🌳 Bristol is named as one of the UK’s greenest and most sustainable cities and it is no surprise that it is easy to get around on foot. We walked around Bedminster and had tasty veggie food, through Clifton Village and the arcade for some window shopping, through to Ashton Court Estate back through to North street. 👁️ The best view has to be of the Clifton Suspension Bridge; the rain stopped just long enough for a quick pic. #Walkingfriendly #Riveravon #Bristol

The first one will definitely be the iconic one, Clifton Suspension Bridge. Do remember to check the weather forecast before you visit this place. Just to make sure you can get a good shot 📸 You can also walk to Clifton Observatory which is nearby (walkable distance) where you can get some good pictures of the bridge easily😎 Clifton Suspension Bridge 📍Bristol BS3 2JX, United Kingdom The next spot that I would recommend is the Mary Red Cliffe Church. You will definitely amazed by the beauty of this church. It looks stunning! You can also walk around the church during the morning. Mary Red Cliffe Church 📍The Parish Office, 12 Colston Parade, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6RA, United Kingdom Last but not least, the colourful houses in Bristol! It is a must to visit this place! But there is not specific address for the colorful houses as you can simply see them when you’re on public transport 🤣 But it’s located around Church Lane and Argyle Place.
