[Chita Peninsula] Enjoy the autumn leaves at Hanroku Garden
Hanroku Garden is a renovated garden of the former Nakano Hanroku residence.
The Nakano Hanroku family was one of the largest landowners in the region, and was a wealthy merchant with a wide range of businesses, including shipping and brewing.
The stroll-style Japanese garden that remains today was built in 1889, and when you enter, you will be greeted by bright red autumn leaves.
The spring in the center of the garden draws in seawater, and it is said that the water level rises and falls with the tides.
As it is located along the canal, it is very quiet, so it is nice to think about history while admiring the autumn leaves.
There is also a shop where you can buy Baumkuchen in the garden.
