Tzu Chi Park
Located in Fengyuan, Tzu Chi Mazu Memorial Park originated during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty when early settlers brought Mazu statues and built Tzu Chi Temple. To support the government's greening policy and promote proper leisure activities while improving social atmosphere, funds were raised to construct Tzu Chi Park. The park covers three hectares of city-owned land and emphasizes both landscape and leisure. Inside the park, there is a finely carved white marble statue of Mazu. The park features a clear stream called Qing Babao Canal, beautiful plantings, a traditional Chinese garden with flowing water, sports courts, a children's play area, and fitness facilities for adults. There are also restrooms, making it a great place for family leisure and exercise. The park's walkways are carefully paved with different types of stones, but it is strongly advised against for those who walk slowly, have mobility issues, or need to use a wheelchair, as over 90% of the paths have uneven surfaces and large gaps, making it easy to lose balance and fall. It is hoped that in the future, the park can be improved to become a suitable leisure and exercise space for people of all ages, from young children to the elderly.
