[2025 Minsk Attraction] Travel Guide for Church of Saints Simon and Helena (Updated Jun)

It was a trip to Minsk, Belarus. Just to share some of my favorite places 😍 We spent sometime to explore the City Center. We visited Independence Square (Ploshchad Nezavisimosti). We visited a few places such as Lenin Statue, Government House, Church of Saints Simon and Helena (Red Church). If you were to explore around, these are the good places to start, as it's a central location with significant landmarks. 📍Independence Avenue, Minsk 💰 Free We also visited Victory Square (Ploshchad Pobedy). It is a memorial for WWII soldiers, with an impressive granite obelisk and a panoramic view of the surrounding area. 📍Prospekt Nezavisimosti, Minsk 💰 Free We also explored around the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. Where you can see WWII Exhibits, Military Vehicles, Interactive Displays. It is one of the largest war museums in the world, offering deep insights into Belarus's role in WWII. Very worth to visit 🙌🙌🙌 📍Pobediteley Avenue 8, Minsk 💰$5 We also spent some times to visit National Opera and Ballet Theatre. There are various performances such as Classical Opera and Ballet Performances. We checked the schedule ahead of time and booked tickets online to prevent queue. 📍 1 Parizhskaya Kommuna Square, Minsk 💰 $5–$15 depending on the performance. If you are looking for a good restaurant, I would recommend you to try Kamyanitsa Restaurant. They served mainly Traditional Belarusian. We ordered the Kolduny (stuffed potato pancakes), Sbiten (Belarusian hot beverage). The food was really good 🙌🙌🙌 📍18 Pervomaiskaya Street, Minsk 💰$20–$30 per person We also walked around the Losyсhа National Park. We only spent awhile walking around due to tight in schedule. This place is Ideal for a day trip for nature lovers and I would suggest you to wear comfortable walking shoes. 📍20km outside Minsk, accessible via Minsk Ring Road Last but not least, Island of Tears is also very worth to visit. It is memorial to soldiers who died in the Afghan War. A solemn place to reflect and pay respects. 📍Near Trinity Hill, Minsk #europetrip #vacation #trip

The current church was built in 1910 and is located on Independence Square in the center of Minsk. It is an architectural monument. The church is very beautiful and elegant, with beautiful stained glass windows, chandeliers, icons, paintings, stucco moldings, and is built in the Neo-Romanesque, Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau styles. The entire church building is tall and majestic, and the exterior decoration structure is exquisite, and it is definitely a great place to take pictures. Save this! Belarus, a European country perfect for introverts If it weren't for my friend's recommendation, I would have missed out on Minsk, a hidden gem! If you're planning a trip during the Lunar New Year, check out this lesser-known destination! Minsk is the capital of Belarus. It's not a big city, but it's very relaxing, and the sunsets are stunning. You can refer to my itinerary for the main attractions. Minsk Railway Station - Gates of Minsk ("Gates of Minsk" is a pair of symmetrical 11-story towers built in the 1950s. It's a landmark of Minsk in the Stalinist style. The left tower has the largest clock in Belarus, with a 3.5-meter diameter dial. It exudes elegance and art, and is worth capturing on camera. It's even more stunning under the lights at night, making it a must-visit spot in Belarus! The right tower has the former Soviet coat of arms, and the tower is carved with images of Soviet heroes such as workers and soldiers. Russian hardcore romance is not innate, but comes from admiration for heroes and awe for life. Holy Spirit Cathedral (It's in the Vilnius Baroque style. The interior of the church is fresh, elegant, and luxurious. The details are decorated with scrolls and curves, and the colorful murals are exquisite. The religious art is rich and overwhelming, and the icon of the Virgin Mary is inside. Saints Simon and Helena Church (Also known as the "Red Church" because of its red brick walls, the Helena Church is very photogenic. It gives me a feeling of coldness, solemnity, and awe, with traces of history clearly visible. The brick-red exterior walls, gray eaves, and tower tops, and the harmonious and extremely symmetrical Russian aesthetic color scheme. The two churches are 2 km apart, which is quite close. It only takes a few minutes to drive, or you can use the walking navigation on the Petal Maps. The roads are clearly displayed, and you can get there while strolling around. The interface and voice navigation are in Chinese, so it's not easy to get lost! In Belarus, many places are in the local language, but you can copy them into Petal Maps and find them. National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre (It's a pilgrimage site for art lovers, with folk art full of ethnic characteristics, brightly colored traditional costumes, and exquisite wood carvings and embroidery. Each piece tells the story of the wisdom and heritage of the people of Minsk. Opera lovers can buy tickets in advance, and those who don't have time to watch the performances can book a guided tour.)

🌟The capital of Belarus, Minsk, has a red church next to the government building, standing on Independence Square in the city center. The birth of the church is somewhat sad, and it also marks the end of a noble family. 🌟The owner of the red church of architecture is the nobleman Edward Voyinovich. He was deeply in love with his wife and had a son and a daughter. Unfortunately, fate played a cruel trick on them. Their son Simon suddenly passed away at the age of 12, and their daughter Helena also passed away suddenly at the age of 19. The family suddenly had no successor, and the family line could not continue. In 1910, the grief-stricken Edward donated all his family's assets to the church and personally built a church named after his children: the Church of St. Simon and St. Helena. 🌟The two small towers at the top of the church represent two deceased children, while the taller tower symbolizes the parents, guarding the sadness and longing. On the right side of the entrance is the lonely white half-body statue of Edward Voynovich, who was destined to be the last descendant of this ancient family.
