Chongfu Temple, Shuozhou.
Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou is a historic Buddhist temple that was first built in the second year of the Linde period of the Tang Dynasty (665) by Yu Chi Jingde, Duke of E. The temple faces south and has five courtyards and ten main halls, with a total area of 23,520 square meters. The main hall of Chongfu Temple is the Amitabha Hall, which was built in the third year of the Huangtong period of the Jin Dynasty (1143) and is one of the three most complete existing buildings from the Liao and Jin Dynasties in China. The plaques, statues, murals, carved doors and windows, and glazed ridge decorations of the Amitabha Hall are known as the "Five Wonders of the Jin Dynasty". The statues and murals in the hall are of great artistic value.

Come to Chongfu Temple in Shanxi to face your destiny.
In "Black Myth: Wukong", Wukong looks up at the Amitabha Hall of Chongfu Temple, with its ancient window lattices, colorful glazed components, and huge bucket arches, which are the five unique features of the Jin Dynasty!
Open the door that Wukong didn't check in, and you will see another art palace. Here, the wooden components, colored sculptures, murals, and plaques of the Jin Dynasty are perfectly preserved, exquisite and beautiful, and can be called a precious giant structure in the Liao and Jin architecture of China.
❤Recommended reason:
Chongfu Temple is one of the three existing Liao and Jin Buddhist temples in China.
The Amitabha Hall of Chongfu Temple is one of the most complete and perfect Jin Dynasty buildings in China. It is seven rooms wide and four rooms deep, with a single eave and a hipped roof. The moon terrace in front of the hall is spacious and covers five rooms. This huge Jin Dynasty temple located on a 2.5-meter-high platform is extremely shocking.
🌟Five unique features:
✅Unique glazed
The ridge beasts and owl kisses are all original objects of the Jin Dynasty. The 1.5-meter-high glazed Hercules looks very mini under the background of the main hall, and it seems to be running away. It has been guarding this ancient building for nearly a thousand years.
✅Unique plaque
The plaque of "Amitabha Hall" written in the 24th year of Dading in Jin Shizong (1184 AD) is the largest one of the same period.
✅Unique window lattice
The rare ancient buildings that even the doors and windows retain the original objects of the Jin Dynasty, as many as fifteen patterns: round, prismatic, four-petal, six-petal, etc., zoom in and look carefully, each bunch of flowers The flower heads are also different, you can feel the ingenuity of the craftsmen a thousand years ago.
✅Unique colored sculpture.
The Western Three Saints enshrined are all Jin Dynasty statues. The backlight screen of the main Buddha Amitabha is as high as 14 meters. You can imagine how shocking the scene will be when the light comes through.
✅Unique mural
The four walls of the hall are Jin Dynasty murals, with delicate carvings and complicated costumes, and the use of gold foil technology, which is more three-dimensional.

As expected, the Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou, known as the "Treasure House of Jin Dynasty Art," is so low-key that it can't hide its brilliant charm!
📍 Chongfu Temple, Shuozhou
In the Maitreya Hall of Chongfu Temple, from the Buddha statue to the Dharma Vajra, each one is exquisite and dynamic. No wonder I heard my friends joking before I went there, saying that myopic sisters should take a telescope to the Maitreya Hall, which is worthwhile.🤭

🍃Shuozhou Chongfu Temple Travel Guide:
👉As soon as you enter Chongfu Temple, the simple atmosphere of the Ming Dynasty's bell tower and drum tower will come to your face. After entering Chongfu Temple, go directly through the building in front and enter the main hall in the center-Mituo Hall. When you walk to the bottom of the hall and look up, you can look up at the big plaque!
👉The architectural style of Chongfu Temple is super characteristic, with red walls and black tiles, and carved beams and painted buildings. I was really shocked by the 1.8-meter glazed Hercules and the exquisitely carved window flowers inside!
👉There are many exquisite Buddha statues in Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou. There is a warrior figurine on the left and right sides of the ridge of the Mituo Hall. It's 1.5 meters high!
👉There are many ancient trees in the courtyard of Chongfu Temple. It is said that they have a history of hundreds of years. Standing under the ancient tree, feeling the passage of time~🌳
👉It is best to understand the history and culture of Chongfu Temple before going, so that you will feel more when you play, and remember not to make loud noises~

Three-day tour of Shanxi.
Three-day itinerary in northern Shanxi
We set off in the morning while it was still raining. There was fog on the road, but the air was excellent. We arrived at the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda in the morning. Its official name is the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple. It is one of the world's tallest and oldest wooden pagodas. It is one of the world's three great pagodas. At noon, we tasted local snacks such as Xiaoxifu Liangfen, Dao Xiao Mian, and meat pies near the scenic area. Then we went to Jingtu Temple. The main hall of the temple, Daxiong Hall, has murals from the Qing Dynasty and a caisson in the Tiangong Building. It is a representative of Jin Dynasty architecture. We drove to Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou. It was built in the second year of Emperor Gaozong of Tang (665 AD) and was built under the order of Duke Wei Chi Jingde of E. Chongfu Temple is an ancient temple with many halls and pavilions. It retains the memory of traditional architecture and the traditional craftsmanship of successive dynasties. It reflects the architectural technology and cultural level of the time. Afterwards, we visited the Wei Chi Jingde Temple and the Mayi Museum. On our way to Dai County, we passed through the north gate of Yanmen Pass and the eighteen bends with steep terrain. In the evening, we tasted the local specialties of Dai County, stewed fish and yellow wine.
The next day, the sky was still drizzling. We went to the south gate of Yanmen Pass and walked up the stone road. Yanmen Pass is named after the mountain. It is strategically located and has the potential to "hold the pass with one man and keep ten thousand at bay". It is an important pass on the Great Wall. It is known for its "danger" and is known as the "First Pass of China". There is a saying that "Yanmen is the first of the nine passes of the world". Yanmen Pass is a strategic location and a major channel for political, economic, and cultural exchanges between the agricultural peoples of the Central Plains and the nomadic peoples of the north. Along the way, we passed Fuguozhai, Guanyindian, Pangu Stone, Zhenbian Temple, Tianxianmen, Yanta, Guanshu, Ningbianlou, and Yanta. The mountaintop was shrouded in clouds and mist. After the rain, it was fresh and elegant. The mind and body were extremely happy and relaxed. In the afternoon, we went to Jinci in Taiyuan. Jinci is the oldest surviving royal sacrificial garden in China. It was built during the Northern Wei Dynasty to commemorate the second son of King Wu of Zhou, Shu Yu. Jinci is not only the ancestral temple of Tang Shu Yu, the founding prince of the Jin Dynasty, and his mother, Yi Jiang, but also a comprehensive carrier of ancient Chinese architectural art. It has buildings from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The attached painted sculptures, murals, and steles are all national treasures. Jinci is known as the "comprehensive carrier of the historical and cultural heritage of the Three Jins" for its rich history and culture and exquisite architecture. The three must-sees of Jinci are the Nanlao Spring, the statue of the maid, and the Zhou Cypress. Listening to the tour guide's explanation, it was worth the trip. In the evening, we stayed near the Zhonglou Pedestrian Street. Dinner was a Taiyuan specialty, jujube-brewed yellow rice, traditional deep-fried pork. We also experienced the modern atmosphere of Taiyuan. The lights were bright at night, and life was colorful.
On the third day, we went to Huiji Temple in Lianjiagang Village, Yuanping City. There is a statue of Cao Gu Gu sitting in the corner of the Manjusri Hall in the temple. The outer part is made of clay, and the inner part is made of real flesh and bone. It is very rare. Although the ancient temple is small, the ancient buildings and clay sculptures are well preserved and have great historical value. Seeing that there was still time, we went to the nearby Tianyashan Scenic Area. It is based on the beautiful and unique natural landscape of Tianyashan and takes the theme of the "loyalty and filial piety" spirit of Jie Zhitui, a historical figure of the Spring and Autumn Period. It organically combines ecological sightseeing tourism with modern cultural experiences. The scenic spots, Tianyashan Charm, Stone Drum Temple, Loyalty and Filial Piety Terrace, and Northland Jiangnan, showcase the beauty of the mountains, the wonder of the stones, and the pavilion and pavilion of the Jiangnan garden style.
The three days of eating, living, traveling, and playing were fulfilling and happy.

The ancient temple in the low-key small town | is also a filming location for Black Myth
| is also a filming location for Black Myth. Chongfu Temple is located in the ancient city of Shuozhou, Shanxi. It is said to have been first established by the local famous general Yuchi Jingde of the Tang Dynasty under imperial decree. It was rebuilt twice during the Liao and Jin Dynasties. The Jin Hailing King Wanyan Liang bestowed the name 'Chongfu Zen Temple'. Since then, it has been renovated and expanded in successive dynasties. The temple now covers a vast area and basically retains the scale of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Among them, the Amitabha Hall and the Guanyin Hall are remnants of Jin Dynasty architecture, preserving five Jin Dynasty art treasures: glazed tiles on the roof, plaques, doors and windows, Buddha statue halos, and murals. These are extremely precious, making it a filming location for Black Myth: Wukong in this unknown small town.
Shuocheng District, where the old city of Shuozhou is located, is at the intersection of the Lüliang Mountains, the Yellow River, and the Inner Mongolia Plateau. In ancient times, it was always a frontline stronghold where the Central Plains dynasties and nomadic peoples competed. However, today, due to its remote location and not being on the main high-speed rail and highway routes connecting north and south Shanxi, it has lost its past glory. This little-known small town has now been chosen as one of the filming locations for Black Myth: Wukong because of Chongfu Temple.
The largest and oldest hall in Chongfu Temple is the Amitabha Hall, located in the fourth courtyard of the temple. This is one of the temple scenes used in Black Myth: Wukong. This outstanding large single building from the Jin Dynasty has seven bays, a front width of more than 40 meters, and a total height of 21 meters. It overlooks many smaller buildings from later periods like a mountain. The flying eaves at the four corners of the hall are both robust and dynamic, creating a majestic and ancient aura for the Buddha hall, a feature prominently highlighted in the game.
Two other astonishing places in Chongfu Temple require close inspection. One is the intricately carved wooden lattice windows on the hall doors, featuring as many as 15 different patterns, including rhombus flowers, lotus flowers, and ancient coins, arranged neatly and intricately connected, a masterpiece of Jin Dynasty craftsmanship. The other is the 'Three Saints of the West' and four Bodhisattvas enshrined in the hall. The seven Buddha statues are arranged in an orderly manner, with three giant leaves behind the main Buddha, exquisitely carved and woven, complementing the light filtering through the lattice windows. The statues are original Jin Dynasty sculptures, repainted in the Ming Dynasty, with a body shape full of ancient charm.

Pathfinder Episode 21: Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou
Shuozhou, Chongfu Temple.
The scale is not small, five entrances:
Vajra Hall, Thousand Buddha Grid, Mahavira Hall, Amitabha Hall and Guanyin Hall. Especially the Amitabha Hall is the core focus, where the murals and Buddha statues are all originals from the Jin Dynasty (1143)!
Painted with clay, nearly three stories high with backlighting, it's shocking.

Chongfu Temple in Shanxi is definitely worth a visit
It is said that Chongfu Temple was built in the second year of Tang Gaozong's Linfen De (665 AD), supervised by the Duke of E State, Yuchi Jingde. However, Yuchi Jingde died in the third year of Xianqing (658 AD), which is probably an over-favoritism towards Yuchi Jingde. If you don't remember him, you must have an impression when it comes to the door god. The Amitabha Hall and Guanyin Hall in the temple are relics of the Jin Dynasty, and the rest were repaired after the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The most famous "Five Uniques of the Jin Dynasty" in Chongfu Temple are all in the Amitabha Hall.
Window flowers. Each door of the Amitabha Hall has carved windows, which are made by using lattices to form patterns as skeletons and carving patterns on them. There are 15 types of patterns such as coin pattern, snowflake pattern, rhombus pattern, lotus pattern, pepper eye, etc., which have remained unchanged for more than 800 years.

Follow the trend and gather together, eat, drink, and chat 😊 Go to Chongfu Temple, enter the five courtyards, and marvel at the sculptures and murals in the 7-meter-high main hall. The figures on the roof are almost as large as real people.
