[Shizuoka] 6 stunning spots to see the blue sky
This time, we will introduce some of the most stunning blue spots in Shizuoka Prefecture that will make you want to visit in the summer.
① Dream Suspension Bridge
This popular spot is often featured in the media. The lake surface shines beautifully in emerald green and cobalt blue due to a phenomenon called the Tyndall effect.
Sumata Gorge, where Dream Suspension Bridge is located, also has hot springs, so it's fun to relax there after a walk♨
You can get there by car or Oigawa Railway and local bus.
② Mishima Skywalk
Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Mishima.
It's also fun that there are leisure facilities such as Forest Adventure attached to it♪
It's also close to Motohakone, so you can enjoy it while sightseeing in Hakone.
③ Shiraito Falls
A beautiful waterfall with a thin falling waterfall that looks like a white thread.
The contrast with the blue of the waterfall basin is beautiful♪
It's close to Mt. Fuji, so it's a spot you should visit in addition to sightseeing around Fuji.
④ Aoki Terrace
A terrace located in Izu Panorama Park. On clear days, you can see the upside-down Mt. Fuji reflected on the water surface.
You can get to the park by ropeway.
⑤ Blue Cave
Izu's Blue Cave, located on Dogashima Island.
You can see it from above or from the cove, but you can also enter it on a sightseeing boat. (You can't enter on days with high waves)
A path created by the ebb and flow of the tides, known as the Tombolo phenomenon, appears on nearby Sanshiro Island (at low tide).
⑥ Kakitagawa Springs
A spring spot located within Kakitagawa Park.
Mt. Fuji's groundwater is filtered through lava and springs out with extremely high transparency.
The water is said to be almost sterile, and there is also a water-drawing spot.

[Shizuoka] Okuoikojo Station: A scenic station on the lake
Okuoi Lakeside Station stands on Lake Okuoi, a reservoir lake with a beautiful emerald green surface.
The Okuoi Rainbow Bridge, an iron bridge of the Southern Alps Abt Line (Ikawa Line), spans the station, making it a spectacular spot that looks as if it is floating on the lake.
Even if you can't get a train ticket, you can see the station from the observation deck. The view from the Abt Line's trolley train is also very beautiful.

Sumata Gorge "Dream Suspension Bridge"
#ShizuokaTourism
A must-visit in Shizuoka is Sumata Gorge!
You can cross a suspension bridge over a truly beautiful emerald-colored lake.
If you go by car from Shizuoka Station, it takes about 2 hours.
If you go by train, take the Oigawa Railway Oigawa Main Line from Shin-Kanaya Station and then a local bus, and it takes about 2 hours.
During the tourist season, traffic on the mountain road is one-way, so you should allow about 3 hours.
The road is bad and it's difficult to get there, but it's still worth it.
It has been discovered that the water of the Sumata River, where the Dream Suspension Bridge is located, is very clean, with very few particles and plankton, all the way to the bottom. When light shines on such water, only blue light with a short wavelength is reflected, and the Tyndall effect can be seen. In other words, the beautiful blue color of the water seen at the Dream Suspension Bridge represents the beauty of the water quality.
And if you're lucky, you can meet a Japanese serow. They are not very wary of humans and will come down to very close to you.

The most beautiful suspension bridge in Shizuoka, Japan
#Japan Attractions #Overseas Travel #Japan Travel #Japan Travel Guide #Autumn Leaves
In autumn, you can see the autumn leaves in many places in Japan🇯🇵, of which I was most impressed by Inchatsu Creek, located in Shizuoka Prefecture!
Inch and creek has a fantastic suspension bridge, it is known as a place to visit once in a lifetime! ✨ Only one person can stand at a time, very narrow! The bridge rocked a little while walking, but that was exciting enough! 🤩The bottom is emerald color💚💙 And clear lake water, and all around is colorful red leaves, with different colors🎨, it's like being in a secret place! Inches and creeks open irregularly outside of the fall, but come in the fall and it's really worth a visit! 👍🏻👍🏻

I went to Dream Suspension Bridge on the weekend ✨
There is a line to cross the bridge.
You should be prepared to wait on weekends.
If it rains the day before, the river will be muddy, so I recommend going the next day when the weather is good 💯
The view from the bridge was also amazing 👏🏻

once in a lifetime
Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge (Dream Suspension Bridge) is in an area called Sumatakyo Hot Springs in Kawanehon. The bridge is 90 meters long and extends over the Oma Dam Lake.
From the right side of the bridge, visitors can take in the beautiful scenery of the emerald green lake surrounded by mountains. The view from the bridge of the lovely valley surrounded by nature is a one-of-a-kind experience.
The best season to visit is the summer, with its lush green, or in autumn to see the foliage. It can become crowded during those times and there may be some waiting time to cross the bridge.
Address: Kawanehon, Haibara District, Shizuoka 428-0402, Japan
Open daily: 0700-1700
How to get there: To get to the Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge, board a bus from Senzu Station and get off at the last stop, Sumatakyo Onsen. The bus stop is right outside of Senzu Station.
After riding for about 40 minutes, you will arrive at Sumatakyo Onsen. From the bus stop, you will have to walk about 30 minutes to get to the bridge.

Kawane Oyama Station on the Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line is a remote station in Shizuoka Prefecture.
The journey is so steep that you'll wonder if there's a station in a place like this, and the excitement you feel when you arrive there will be unforgettable.
It is said that there are very few users, but this wonderful station, worthy of being called a "station building," and surrounded by nature, is undoubtedly a station full of charm.
You never know what will happen on a trip, and you wonder what kind of encounters await you. That's the beauty of traveling.

[Shizuoka Prefecture, Sumata Gorge - Dream Suspension Bridge]
Sumata Gorge is located in Kawanehon-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture.
It is 90m long and 8m high, spanning the Oma Dam Lake.
This is a hidden suspension bridge that is so popular that it was selected as one of the "10 pedestrian suspension bridges in the world you want to cross before you die."
This time, I crossed this suspension bridge.
Only about 10 people can cross at a time, so you may have to wait 3-4 hours during popular times...!
When I went, there were hardly any people, so I was able to cross slowly and take photos!
The view was truly spectacular, and I understood why people want to cross it before they die!
It is said that if you pray in the middle of the suspension bridge, your love wish will come true, and it is also famous as a power spot!
There is Sumata Gorge Onsen nearby! It is close to Sumata Gorge Onsen, so please visit it after visiting the hot springs!

Sumatakyo Dream Suspension Bridge
This place must be included in the Japanese secret scenic area series. Few travel books will mention and introduce this suspension bridge. In addition to the beauty of this suspension bridge, the surrounding scenery is indeed stunning. This time I brought my group members there, and everyone called it a paradise. It takes about 7 hours to drive back and forth from Nagoya. It takes about 45 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the suspension bridge. Because it involves a small part of hiking, remember to wear appropriate clothing. When driving by yourself, you will pass many different types of suspension bridges. They are really special and unique and no one should miss them.
I remember to check the suspension bridge online when I planned to visit it. Last time I planned to visit this suspension bridge in Tokyo, I found that it was closed due to a typhoon. It takes about 6 hours to go back and forth, and if I missed the trip, it would be a waste of travel time. Entering the bridge, there is a small village that provides snacks such as udon and soba noodles.

[Shizuoka Prefecture] The world has recognized this spectacular suspension bridge in a hidden area.
The world has recognized this magnificent view! It is the most popular tourist spot in the Oi River. You can cross a 90m suspension bridge over a beautiful emerald green dam lake. It is a 30-minute walk from "Sumatakyo Onsen".
Sumatakyo, where the "Dream Suspension Bridge" is located, is the entrance to the Shizuoka side of the Southern Alps. This area is designated as "Okuoi Prefectural Natural Park" and is also part of the area certified as "Southern Alps UNESCO Ecopark" in 2014. Because of this, the area around the Dream Suspension Bridge is a virgin forest. The rich nature and the emerald green waterside of the Oma Dam Lake bring even more beauty✨
㊙️However, it is not easy to see this magnificent view! It takes more than 30 minutes to get to the Dream Suspension Bridge😅, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear such as sneakers! ️Be prepared as you will have to climb and descend some very steep stairs. If you include the walking course, it will take 90 minutes! ️
If you get tired from walking a lot, you can relax at "Sumatakyo Onsen" and fill your stomach with a restaurant.👍
Because it is surrounded by nature, you can see different expressions and scenery in spring, summer, autumn and winter, so it's fun to visit according to the season.😊

[Shizuoka Prefecture] A hidden station with a spectacular view floating in the middle of a lake!
This time, we will introduce a station that is not so easy to get to. In the middle of a lake surrounded by mountains, we will introduce "Okuoikojo Station", a small floating station that looks like it came out of Ghibli.
This is located upstream of the Oi River in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is located in the middle of the emerald green ✨ lake where Nagashima Dam is located, and it won the "Cool Japan Award" in 2019. In recent years, it has been introduced on SNS and has become a spot that is rapidly gaining popularity.
There is also a parking lot 🅿️ near the station's spectacular photo spot, and there is a place where you can take a picture of the whole station and Rainbow Bridge 🌉. Plus, it is recommended to take a picture when the train 🚃 is passing by 😊
㊙️ The train that runs here was amazing, so I will explain it. Commonly known as the "Abt system railway", it is a railway for steep slopes that uses rack rails called toothed rails to go up and down steep slopes. The section on which this train runs from Abt Ichishiro Station to Nagashima Dam Station on the Oigawa Railway is the steepest slope in Japan, and it is the only Abt system railway in Japan! ️
At the station, there is a promenade next to the bridge tracks 🛤️, and you can cross the bridge to get to the station. There are also love spots and cafes ☕️ at the station, making it a place where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views.
It's nice to drive there in a car, but I think it would also be nice to take the Oigawa Railway to Okuoikojo Station and enjoy the scenery. Why not take a trip to this remote station?
I would be happy if you have any thoughts or information about this "Okuoikojo Station"☺️👍

[Shizuoka] Cat Station?!
#0yentravelnovember
Kawane-Oyama Station on the Ikawa Line of the Oigawa Railway is one of only six stations in Japan with the word "neko" (cat) in its name.
You can ride the red Abt train on the Ikawa Line!
The Oigawa Railway is turning Kawane-Oyama Station into a "cat station" on February 22, 2020, which is "Cat Day."
The station name has been changed to "Kawanekoyama," and a "Kawanekoyama" sign has been installed in the station building, as well as a board where users can display photos and illustrations of their beloved cats.
The Oigawa Railway is also holding various events and campaigns themed around stations with "neko" (cat) in their names.

#0yentravelnovember
A tea shop I don't really want to tell you about!
.
.
Suzuki Chaen is a small family farm in Tokuyama, Kawane, Shizuoka, where we grow, produce and sell tea.
Kawane-cho is surrounded by the Southern Alps and is a mountainous area where steam locomotives run along the Oi River. Tokuyama, the village where we live, is also surrounded by mountains and is a rural area rich in nature. The scattered tea fields, combined, are less than one cho in size. We use an old and small 35K tea-making machine. We try to make sencha soft by not rolling it too much. We make sencha, kettle-fried tea and black tea mainly from indigenous species, but also from slightly rare varieties such as Misho and Fuji Midori. All of our teas are easy to make and delicious, just pour them directly from the pot into a teapot. (From the official BASE)

Abt train in Kawanehon Town, Shizuoka Prefecture
#0yentravelnovember
Let's ride the Abt system train in Kawanehon-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture!
Japan's only Abt system train is in operation here. This railway is full of sights, including the highest railway bridge in Japan (Sekinosawa Bridge) and Okuoikojo Station, which appears to be floating on Lake Sesso. (Tourist Association website)
The Oigawa Railway's Ikawa Line (between Senzu Station and Ikawa Station) is nicknamed the Southern Alps Abt Line, and the 1.5 km section between Abt Ichishiro Station and Nagashima Dam Station has the steepest gradient in Japan, 90 per mille, for ordinary railways excluding cable cars, so the Abt system railway was adopted here (Reference: The former Shinetsu Main Line between Karuizawa Station and Yokokawa Station is 66.7 per mille).

[Characteristics of Kawane tea]
Kawane tea is a mountain tea grown in the Southern Alps.
Kawane tea, produced in the mountainous areas upstream of the Oi River, is characterized by its well-balanced taste, with just the right amount of bitterness and astringency. During the Edo period, Kinokuniya Bunzaemon, a merchant who was a supplier to the shogunate, brought it back to Edo, and it is said that its fragrant taste became popular.
