I am not surprised because markets are all different in every country, selling different things and it is such an eye opener to see what a local market offers. As the name suggest, chinatown wet market is really wet! The floor is slippery with fish water drippings, you can smell strong fishy stench coming from the seafood and the market is bustling with life. Fishmonger seen haggling prices and serving customers, while people are busy choosing their seafood. Every stall is unique. Some sells Yong tau foo, others sell meat and there is a stall selling exotic fish like snake head fish and frog legs. At the back of the market, other stalls are selling vegetables and fruits. While the dining hawker centre is located at level 2. You can find many fresh fish and seafood here at a very great price. If you are looking for souvenirs , you can visit the level one . It is definitely a great place to explore . There is even a Buddhist temple as well as an Indian temple and a Malay mosque around the corner too.

It is open all year round but gets exceptionally crowded during the lunar new year due to the festive mood from the locals and the shop owners. Chinatown Street Market is easily accessible via the train or the bus and is a short 3min walking distance away from the Chinatown train station. The market sells souvenirs, snacks, fruits, magnets, bags, stickers and much more at a super friendly price. And if you are hungry, there are loads of food stalls and restaurants that serves good Chinese local food suited for all ages.

A four-storey temple and museum in Chinatown It was very quiet, and beautiful golden Buddha statues were lined up. The vermilion walls and the gold of the ceiling seemed to shine. There were many monks wearing robes near the entrance. It had the atmosphere of a foreign temple. On the first floor, there was a Maitreya Buddha and 100 statues of Shakyamuni. On the second floor, there was an art exhibition and a shop. On the third floor, there was a cultural museum. On the fourth floor, there was a Buddha Tooth Relic Stupa, where the tooth of Buddha is enshrined. About an 8-minute walk from Chinatown MRT Station.
