Chichibu Shrine is located a 3-minute walk from Chichibu Station. It is located at the end of the shopping street, so it is also recommended as a stopover spot for sightseeing in the city. It is the main shrine of the Chichibu region and one of the three Chichibu shrines. The Chichibu Night Festival in December is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage as one of the Yama, Hoko, and Yatai events. It is also a cultural asset designated by Saitama Prefecture. On the day I visited, the shrine was lit up during the Chichibu Night Street Colorful Walk event. It was a rare night visit and I was able to see the fantastic appearance, so it is an event that I would like you to check out again when it is held. This is a limited-time event from 2024/12/23-2025/2/16, and it is a night filled with colors that you can't usually see. It is held at Chichibu Shrine, Chichibu Imamiya Shrine, 13th Jigenji Temple, 15th Shorinji Temple, in front of the former Koike Tobacco Shop Koike Cafe, and Myoken no Mori Park, and I went to three places: Chichibu Shrine, in front of the former Koike Tobacco Shop Koike Cafe, and Myoken no Mori Park. This is a popular shrine that most people stop by when they visit Chichibu. This time, I visited the shrine after touring various places in Chichibu and learning about the festival at the Chichibu Festival Hall. It was close to closing time, but the shrine was lit up🔦, so I experienced a different atmosphere at Chichibu Shrine than usual. I watched the shrine building close and my trip came to an end. Hahasoreisha Shrine ⛩️ 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Hahasoreisha Shrine is an external shrine to Chichibu Shrine. It is pronounced "Hahasoreisha." It is adjacent to the Chichibu Festival Hall and is enshrined at the back. According to the shrine's legend, it was built using materials from the remains of the old shrine building donated by Hotaka Shrine in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture. The "Haha" (柞) comes from the name of the grove of Chichibu Shrine, "Haha no Mori" (柞 Forest). It's a beautiful city with lots of impressive and beautiful shrines. The fall foliage can be seen around the city and the popular Chichibu Shrine. There are also a lot of shrines and temples around Chichibu and due to the popularity of the Anohana anime, there's a lot coming over the city for an anime pilgrimage (travel around places as depicted in the anime). As we went on a weekday, there weren't a lot of people around and we are able to take a leisurely stroll around the city.
