Cheongju International Airport → Seoul Travel Method ①
In the summer of 2023, AERO-K will operate between Narita Airport and Cheongju International Airport.
Here is the travel from Cheongju International Airport to Seoul that I used this time.
After arriving at Cheongju International Airport, I quickly exchanged about 5,000 yen at a bank booth in the airport.
When I went outside, there was a bus stop and a red bus with the sign 747 was parked there.
Perhaps because Cheongju International Airport is also a military airport, there was not much information about it, so I found the red 747 bus that I had gathered information about before leaving and got on. My destination was Osung Station to board the KTX to Seoul.
I asked the driver, "Are you going to Osung?" and I didn't quite hear him, but he nodded, so I got on.
The Tmoney card I had before had insufficient funds, so I paid with cash. The exchange rate was high, but it was necessary to exchange money.
It took about 40 minutes to arrive at Osung Station. Before that, there are bus stops with names such as Osung something, Osung this, and Osung that, but Osung Station is a large station, so don't get off until you enter the bus terminal in front of the large concrete-colored building!
Then, take the escalator to the second floor. There is a food court and ticket counter on the second floor, and the platform is on the third floor.
If you are heading to Seoul, I recommend either Seoul Station or Yongsan Station.
And be careful! KTX is always crowded. I recommend that you make a reservation with a certain amount of time in mind. You can make a reservation here on Trip.
I underestimated the crowds, so after arriving at Osung Station around 5pm, I was told that there were no seats available for Seoul Station until 8pm, so I spent the time inside Osung Station, where there are no tourist attractions nearby. But in the end, while waiting, I changed to a ticket for Yongsan Station, looking at the real-time seat availability information. The counter staff only look at Seoul Station when you say Seoul Station. They don't give you any clever advice like, "Wouldn't Yongsan Station be okay?" so tell them whichever station you can get on at first at Seoul Station or Yongsan Station.
I was able to use a credit card issued in Japan. (They said it was hard to read, though...)
After arriving at Yongsan Station, I charged my namene card and took a train in Seoul to the hotel.
