Shantou must-eats, must-go places and the History Museum❗
Although the small park is now a tourist area and prices are not low, it is still worth a visit and taking photos. There are some characteristic old snack shops and pastries that still retain the old Shantou flavor.
Shantou locals brought Shantou special snacks, such as turtle cake, pig intestine glutinous rice and pickled cabbage pepper pork tripe soup. Turtle cake: rice paste added with shrimp, fermented bean curd pork, mushrooms, quail eggs, soft and sticky👍🏻; pig intestine glutinous rice: glutinous rice with peanuts, chestnuts, fat, dipped in honey, delicious👍🏻 Pickled cabbage pepper pork tripe soup, the taste is suitable, peppery👍🏻
Shantou's tofu pudding has a unique flavor, soft and glutinous bean fragrance 👍🏻
You can't miss the rice noodle rolls. I recommend a shop in Danba that's located in an alley. When I went there at 11 o'clock that day, there were always people buying it. The ingredients are fresh and the price is affordable!
The pig blood soup is a must for those who like to eat offal. You can choose watercress and motherwort. There is another one. I ordered pig liver and mixed balls. It was very comfortable to drink 🤤
You have to eat braised goose when you come to Shantou. I went to the main store in Sunan and ordered a $118 platter. The goose liver was creamy, sweet and fragrant without any fishy smell. The goose meat and goose kidney were very tasty. You must order the big goose eggs. I was very satisfied after eating it. 😊
Checked in for a cup of trendy tea and took a teapot home 🤣
Finally, you must go to the Chaoshan Overseas Chinese History Museum to learn about the characteristics and history of Chaoshan. Whether it is the old weaving craftsmanship, food production or architectural style, it is amazing. It is recommended to go there at the beginning of the journey. You will have a better understanding of the concept before traveling. 😀
