It was built in 1066 and faces the Shuidong Bridge across the Ting River. During the Republic of China, the upper wooden floor was demolished, leaving only the wall base. The upper wooden structure you see now was built in 2017. You can't believe this is in a modern city, it's like going back to ancient times in a movie. During the Song Dynasty, Wen Tianxiang resisted the Yuan Dynasty at Jichuan Gate, and during the Ming Dynasty, Wang Yangming entered Tingzhou to suppress bandits. Jichuan Gate has witnessed the rise and fall of the ancient city for a thousand years. It can be called an ancient city that never gets old. Longyan ~ Changting Ancient City ~.

First of all, I don't recommend traveling during holidays, there are too many people. The first step after arriving in Changting is to buy a cup of local tea: Cha Shan Pai (it looks like a Xiamen brand at first glance, but it doesn't matter, it's still a Fujian brand and the taste is not bad. I recommend the light milk tea series). I highly recommend a night tour of Changting City. The lights are on at night, and the scenery is really beautiful! It can be compared to Fenghuang Ancient City! For dinner, we chose to eat in the ancient city. The main local specialty of Changting is taro dumplings (the skin is made of taro, which is chewy and has a meat filling. Overall, it's not bad. A large bowl seems to be only 20 yuan), hand-peeled bamboo shoots (sweet and sour, tender bamboo shoots), Hetian chicken (very flavorful, skin is very elastic and chewy). The second day's itinerary is to go to Quaoli Wharf. The scenery is very good, there are not many people, and it is very suitable for slowing down and enjoying the slow life. When visiting Tingzhou Ancient City, after passing through Chaotian Gate from East Street, the first thing you will see is the 'Hakka Woodworking Skills Transmission Institute,' which is converted from an old building. The facade is relatively simple, covering only 758 square meters, but it is the nation's first Hakka traditional architectural skills transmission institute. 📍Scenic Address: No. 73 East Street, Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province (inside Chaotian Gate) 🚗Scenic Transportation: You can take Tingzhou Bus No. 3 to Jichuan Gate, then walk north along Tingjiang for about 5 minutes to reach. 👍️Must-visit attractions: 1⃣ A plaque reading 'Ancestor of Rope and Ink Art' hangs high in the hall, and below it sits a statue that should be Lu Ban, but there is no introduction on-site. 2⃣ The Hakka walled house model takes the Hakka courtyard with 9 halls and 18 wells as an example. Parking spaces in Changting are super scarce, it's recommended to park further away, then rent a bike, shared electric scooters are hard to find, and if parked they might be taken away, and you can't just park anywhere. The Changting County Museum is one of the earliest established comprehensive county-level museums in Fujian Province, located beside Zhaozheng Road, the main thoroughfare of Tingzhou Town. The Changting County Museum is housed in the former site of the Fujian Soviet Government, and is recognized as a national excellent patriotic education base, a national 4A-level red tourism scenic area, a national third-level museum, a Fujian provincial party history education base, and a Fujian provincial national defense education base, among others. After the boat tour, you can walk to Jichuanmen City Wall, scan the code to enter, make sure to do so before 21:00, recommended visiting time is 30min. Changting Ancient City is one of the most complete, largest, and most representative ancient cities in China, with a history of more than 2,500 years. There are many shared electric donkeys on the streets, and there are not many pedestrians, so riding is smooth, especially a section that passes through the ancient city, giving a feeling of traveling through time. Riding an electric donkey turned out to be our happiest memory in Changting 🍚Cuisine: ❗Shoutou Street: 【Changting Stinky Tofu】 Changting's dried tofu is famous, and there are shops selling dried tofu souvenirs everywhere. But we wanted to eat freshly made ones, so we bought this stinky tofu, which doesn't smell bad, but is full of bean flavor! ❗【A Certain Restaurant】⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ →Environment: Spacious with plenty of seats, the overall environment is average but clean →Dishes: Features various local specialties, such as boiled beef, boiled pig tongue, etc. Unfortunately, the two of us couldn't eat them all, otherwise, we would have liked to try everything!
