Chaihe scenic area has many volcanic crater lakes. On both sides of the Chaihe River, over a thousand square kilometers have formed more than 20 volcanoes, most of which have craters above one kilometer in altitude. Within a 300 square kilometer area around the source of the Chaihe River, there are 5 volcanic lakes (crater lakes) situated above one kilometer in altitude. Among them, the Keluogoshan crater lake (Moon Lake) is a famous volcanic lake. There are also other crater lakes such as Angou crater lake, Tuofeng crater lake, Shuanggou crater lake, and Buqiwaizhan crater lake. These crater lakes, like Moon Lake, have neither inlet nor outlet.
