A can’t miss free park in Shanghai 🧡
Century park is definitely a can’t miss park in Shanghai.
Free entrance, convenient transportation (metro line 2, not far from city center) and most importantly, amazing scenery throughout the year especially in spring and fall season.
I recommend everyone to go there and enjoy a chill weekend day with friends.

Shanghai Century Park
Address: China, Shanghai, Pudong, 409 Huamu Road, 201204
Highlights: The Shanghai Century Park is an oasis of green and tranquility in a city that runs on speed and lights. This park is a huge place with lakes, trees, cherry blossoms and garden. It is a wonderful place if you love nature. There is an entrance fee of RMB$10 but it's totally worth it. 🥰
At the end of Century Avenue, you will find the Century Flower Clock. This icon is a large clock with many cheerful and colorful flower decorations all around. The river side is beautiful as well. I would really recommend to rent a small boat to explore around.😉

Picnic on a Sunny Afternoon
Went to Century Park few weeks after we first got released from lockdown. No entrance ticket needed (before it was ¥10). So many people came to enjoy fresh air after months being locked at home. The black swans seems to enjoy the attention, too! A good place to take a long afternoon stroll and breathe some fresh air!
Best time to visit: spring or autumn.
Getting There - Metro Line 2, Century Park station
Attractions - Large park with several different areas
Food & Restaurants - Several food stalls inside park
Shopping - Can buy bike ticket or, if it’s opened, ticket for mini amusement park rides inside.

A Green Escape in a Concrete Jungle
This was one of the first places I went after Shanghai’s long lockdown, and it felt amazing to just stretch my legs in the sunshine and surrounded by nature. There was an incredible vibe here too, the park was filled with life: people jogging, having picnics with friends, playing frisbee, bird-feeding sitting by the lake or lying on shaded grassy areas with a book.
Spanning around 340 acres of land, Century Park makes for a great afternoon out on a sunny day. Whether you’re looking to go for a leisurely stroll and catch up with a friend, a snack-filled picnic, a long run or to admire the flora and fauna, there’s plenty of room and opportunity to do so.
The park is split into several areas: a scenic lakeside area, a forest landscape area, a nature reserve, folk village and more.
As per regulations following the latest lockdown in Shanghai, you will need to show a green QR code and a negative pcr result from the last 72 hours in order to get into the park.
How to get there: From downtown Shanghai, take line 2 and take Exit 1 at Century Park Station.
There are numerous gates through which you can enter the park.

Plum blossom season is here, and there's no better place to admire them than Shanghai's Century Park. This large space encompasses woods, running tracks, playgrounds, lawns, and lakes - great for camping trips with the kids. Its peaceful atmosphere and springlike scenery also make it the perfect place for photography enthusiasts to capture the essence of the season.

Don't bother with travel
home door
also have a color
called "autumn"...
waited for a season, finally received Gaston Luga this white classic backpack, although Summer has passed.
So, I put a heavy SLR and a 14-inch Mac in a backpack, releasing light hands to embrace the fall; so I have a favorite white backpack that can match the depth of autumn and winter. Color clothing; so, I can carry Gaston Luga on the horizon. . .
Simple, stylish and generous Swedish classic bag adds a comfortable white to the autumn.
Enjoyourtrip.
In Century Park, you can not only enjoy plum blossoms, but also picnics, cycling and other activities, as well as lakes for fishing. It is a good place for dogs and babies.
There are more people on weekends. It is recommended to go to the morning or later, and you can't enter the park at around 6 pm, so don't be too late. I am willing to live next to the park. I have nothing to do. I walked in the park every three or five times. Is this a normal life, is it not the longing life of people who are on the road every day?

The beautiful scenery of Century Park in late autumn at 20°C.
Century Park is a place I visit 100 times a year. Whenever the sun is shining and the temperature is just right, I ride my bike for 10 minutes and embrace nature. Walking along the lakeside avenue by Jingtian Lake is a pleasant experience, as the green shade on both sides slowly turns yellow. Why do we have to chase ginkgo trees? Every tree that bids farewell to autumn is beautiful.
.
On a large green lawn, a large patch of yellow daisies against the blue sky looks like Altay in Xinjiang.
The large patch of pink muhly grass is ethereal, and the tiny branches and leaves brush against your fingertips.
The pond by Fenghe Bridge is already covered with withered lotus leaves, and the colorful chrysanthemums by the lake instantly give you the feeling of being in Monet's Garden.
🌈Travel tips
Enter from Gate 1 and tour the park counterclockwise. You can walk to Gate 5, 6, or 7 and leave the park, and then ride your bike back at any time.
🌟Highlights:
Da Fu Gui has opened a branch in Century Park, so you don't have to buy McDonald's anymore. Enter from Gate 1 and turn right.

Shanghai’s Autumn Magic: A City in Full Color
Experiencing Shanghai in autumn is a treat for the senses! The city transforms as the leaves change, especially around spots like Century Park and the French Concession, where vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges brighten the streets. Walking through tree-lined paths with fall colors as a backdrop is simply magical. Plus, the crisp autumn air adds a refreshing touch to the bustling city. Shanghai in fall is not to be missed! #fallcolors

Shanghai in fall
#100WaysOfTravel Experiencing fall in Shanghai is a delightful blend of vibrant colors and cultural richness. As the weather cools, the city’s parks and tree-lined streets transform into a tapestry of red, orange, and yellow foliage. Places like Fuxing Park and Century Park become perfect spots for leisurely strolls, where the crunch of fallen leaves accompanies the crisp air.
The autumn season also brings various festivals and events. The Mid-Autumn Festival, with its colorful lanterns and mooncakes, adds a festive touch, celebrating family reunions and the harvest moon. Exploring local markets during this time offers a chance to savor seasonal treats.
Culinary delights abound in the fall as well. From warm bowls of soup noodles to hearty dishes featuring seasonal ingredients, Shanghai’s food scene is vibrant and inviting. Don’t miss out on street food options, which come alive in the cooler months.

Shanghai in Autumn | Century Park is stunning.
| Century Park is stunning. Autumn is so beautiful, and Century Park is definitely a treasure trove this season. 😍
🌸It's even more beautiful than Gongqing Forest Park! Large patches of pink muhly grass, foxtail grass, sulfur chrysanthemums, and roses... all blooming in Century Park, full of autumn colors, the fragrance of osmanthus, intoxicating, relaxing. 💖
🌾The flowering period is limited, so be sure to check in as soon as possible. I went at 6:30 in the morning, when there were few people and the scenery was beautiful, and the photo effect was great. 📷
🎯Century Park Autumn Viewing Guide is here! Enter from Gate 7, and the foxtail grass trail is on the right. Walking in it, it seems to return to the good times of childhood. Further inside is the Autumn Garden Color Leaf Forest, the colorful leaves are eye-catching. Finally, you can go to Swan Lake and watch the beautiful swans playing on the lake. 🦢
💕The pink muhly grass sea at Gate 5, although it is fenced, the outside view is also super beautiful. That piece of pink mist, dreamlike, makes people's girlhood explode. 💗
🌼The sulfur chrysanthemum sea at Gate 3, although it is now scattered, you can also feel the romance of autumn. The yellow flowers swaying in the breeze, as if telling the story of autumn. 🎊
🌹The rose sea in the Music Fountain area, although it is about to wither, the wedding art garden next to it is also worth exploring. The exquisite garden layout makes people feel like they are in a fairy tale world. 💒
🌻There is a sunflower area in front of the Science and Technology Museum No. 2, waiting for you to discover. Sunflowers are always so energetic, making people feel bright. 🌞
🚇The transportation is super convenient! Metro Line 2 Century Park Station Exit 1/4 is Gate 7, and there is a parking lot! But the parking spaces are a bit tight, remember to come early. 🅿️
🏕Sisters who want to camp, pay attention! Many lawn areas can be camped, but now in autumn, some areas may be pulled up to protect the lawn. But it doesn't matter, find a suitable place, you can still enjoy the beauty of nature. 🎈
🎫The most important thing is! Here is a free ticket! Open 24 hours! Pet friendly! Sisters, bring your camera and good mood, and come to Century Park to enjoy the autumn! 💃

The hydrangeas in Shanghai's urban area are not blooming well this year, except for here!
🌈Attraction Features:
In mid-June, hydrangeas are blooming all over Shanghai. However, generally speaking, those popular spots for flower viewing in previous years have fewer flowers. I thought that was it for this year, until I went to Century Park...
The row of hydrangea walls at Gate 5, which is dozens of meters long, is in full bloom. With the stone brick wall, you can capture many beautiful scenes. Opposite, there is a small patch of blue-purple hydrangeas by the Wind Lotus Bridge!

The flowers in this park are in full bloom and incredibly beautiful
I originally went there for the hydrangeas, which haven't fully bloomed yet and are expected to take about another week, but I saw many other beautiful patches of flowers, which could be described as a sea of flowers, with butterflies fluttering around. It's like Empress Xiang's garden! I can't imagine how great the photos would look on a sunny day.
ps: I really can't help but complain: Apple's camera is like dog poop, the sharpening is too severe, and the photos are blurry on cloudy days.

Century Park has three rose sea areas, among which two are flower walls.
One is to the left of Gate 7, and the other is opposite the Montreal Garden, in front of the vegetable garden that is under renovation.
The third one is near Gate 2, by the music fountain square's rose arch, and all three areas are now fully bloomed.
There are also flowers under the poplar trees by the lotus pond that have fully bloomed.
Across the lawn from the lotus pond, the sea of corn poppies and Dianthus flowers is also blooming, offering a beautiful view with few people around.

April flower season in Century Park
The Century Park in the center of Pudong is a healing paradise for workers. During the warm but not intense spring sunshine at noon, you can walk around the Mirror Lake in just one hour.
Wandering through the tall and dense forest, watching the explosive blooming of the camellia flowers, surprises are everywhere. The vast and flat lawn is where children frolic, a leisurely space under the sky canopy. For a moment, it feels like a holiday, or an hour's escape from a workday.
❗Must-visit
1⃣️Enter from Gate No. 1, on the viewing platform on the north side of Mirror Lake, the hydrangea flowers are still waiting for their turn to take the stage, surrounded by a forest of camellia trees making their entrance. Huge white flowers densely cover the sky. The flowers on a camellia tree have different blooming periods; the ones just blooming are light green, and there are also transcendent white ones.
2⃣️Today's sky is so blue, the lake water sparkles, and little boats wander in the lake. Boxwood flowers are a surprise by the lake. The small flowers are dense, with bright yellow color.
3⃣️The flower bushes by the roadside are the seasonal azaleas, with various varieties and colors.
4⃣️Walking to the south side of Mirror Lake, this large area is the world of poppies and pansies, with colorful displays set against the lawn, and further away, the lake water and the blue sky.
💢I really want to just lie down here, on the lawn and among the flowers.

Shanghai Suburban Trips! The cherry blossoms in Century Park are in full bloom!
Yesterday was a mix of wind and rain, but today is clear and sunny!
The long-awaited cherry blossoms have finally bloomed, an annual event,
a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, the flowers are ready. It's recommended to wear light-colored or white clothing for better photos.
I cherish the time spent recharging in the park at noon, grateful for nature, grateful for the flowers.
The Earth is already 4.5 billion years old, plants first appeared during the Cambrian period 5 years ago, and it was only 400 million years later that the first angiosperm bloomed on this world.
From becoming a terrestrial plant to blooming a flower, it took 400 million years, so why are humans in such a hurry?

During the hot summer, early mornings and evenings become the best times to visit the park. The air is fresh in the morning, and in the evening, the breeze in Century Park dispels the steaming heat of the day. As the lights gradually come on and dusk approaches, the sky with its natural filter and the deep blue color make for the most beautiful photo moments.
Century Park is picturesque throughout the year, with flowers blooming in succession during the summer. June to September is the best time to appreciate lotuses in Century Park. Living nearby, I almost go to the park every morning and after dinner to see how many lotuses have bloomed today~ Each visit makes me realize that many blooming lotuses have been stolen early in the morning by some with bad behavior. How infuriating!
✍🏻|Recommended Seasonal Attraction|
🪷This year, the best spot to view lotuses in Century Park is at the Montreal Garden near Gate 6. The star of June's summer days - the lotus - is eager to make its appearance, and the lotus pond inside the park is already a refreshing and tenderly pink beautiful sight. Covering nearly 4000 square meters, the lotuses are blooming one after another, tender and delicate, bringing joy to the heart!
🪷Standing on the Wind Lotus Bridge and looking out, you can see an endless stretch of lotus leaves reaching for the sky. Looking across the clear blue water, you'll see large, serene lotuses, white, pink, light yellow... This year, there are even more pink lotuses, so pure and tranquil that they truly embody the phrase 'Out of the mud but not stained, cleansing oneself in clear ripples without being flirtatious.'
🪷Daytime lotuses and evening lotuses are two completely different scenes, each with its own characteristics, and both are worth admiring!
✍🏻Let's learn a bit about the difference between day and night lotuses:
Question: Why do lotuses close at night and open in the morning?
Answer: Lotuses close at night and open in the morning due to the influence of light. They will fully bloom in a well-lit environment. Lotuses generally start to bloom around 4:00-5:00 am, and after being exposed to light and performing photosynthesis, accumulating sufficient nutrients, they begin to unfold their petals. The best time to view them is between 6:00-8:00 am when the light is more abundant, which can cause the lotus petals to fully bloom and stretch out. Around 5:00 pm, as the sun sets and the light diminishes, the temperature drops, and the lotuses will slowly close their petals.
📌Little Tips: The above photos were taken during the following time periods: early morning + evening around 6 pm
