A temple to Valenciaโs culinary world
Markets are one of those places that collect the essence and the soul of a city. And the ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น in ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ does exactly that.
Upon entering the space one can't stop contemplating its impressive oval ceiling, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The location of the market had served since long time ago, as an itinerant market where traders from all over ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ช๐ธ would sell their goods to the inhabitants of ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ and it wasn't until 1928 when the market was officially inaugurated that it became permanent in this location.
Its style is reminiscent of ๐๐ค๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐, so popular in Spanish cities like ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ, and precisely the architects who designed the first draft - ๐๐ญ๐ฆ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ณ๐ฐ ๐๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ค๐ฉ and ๐๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ช๐ด๐ค๐ฐ ๐๐ถ๐ข๐ณ๐ฅ๐ช๐ข ๐๐ช๐ข๐ญ - were both educated in the ๐๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ก ๐ค๐ ๐ผ๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐ ๐ค๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ง๐๐๐ก๐ค๐ฃ๐ and collaborated with renowned architect ๐๐ญ๐ถ๐ช๐ด ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ช ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ณ, one of the precurssors of Modernism.
Nowadays the ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น is visited by tourists and locals alike, the first ones to enjoy its architecture and rejoice the local gastronomy in the stalls: ๐๐๐ข๐ค๐ฃ, ๐๐๐๐๐จ๐, ๐ค๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ช๐๐๐, ๐๐ง๐ช๐๐ฉ๐จ, ๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐จ, ๐๐๐ค๐๐ค๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐จ and more, the latter ones to get their groceries and go along with their daily life.
Definitely a beautiful place to visit and even take home some of the local products that make Valencian cuisine a highlight among ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป'๐ culinary ๐ฉโ๐ณ universe.

A Feast of Graffiti and Seafood Rice: The Unique Charm of Valencia's Old Town
We gently stroll through a dazzling gem in eastern Spain - the old town of Valencia. Here, history and modernity intertwine, ancient buildings and street art collide, creating a unique atmosphere. Every time we turn a corner, it seems like we're entering a whole new world, full of surprises and the joy of exploration.
Our adventure begins with the charming streets of the old town. The ancient cobblestone roads seem to tell a long history, while the creative graffiti walls along the way inject fresh vitality into this antiquity. These colorful graffiti works, some full of political satire, some pure artistic expression, make every corner of the city exude a unique personality. We can't help but stop to admire, even take pictures with these street art pieces, recording this unrestrained creativity.
In our journey, food is always an indispensable part. Valencia is famous for its delicious seafood rice, and we can't wait to taste this authentic delicacy. In a traditional small restaurant, we finally tasted the legendary seafood rice. Each bite is full of ocean flavor, fresh seafood and rice soaked in seafood juice perfectly blend, making us exclaim incessantly. This is not just a meal, but a cultural experience, giving us a deeper understanding of Valencia's enthusiasm and lifestyle.
As the afterglow of the setting sun spills onto the streets of the old town, we shuttle through the alleys, feeling the unique tranquility and warmth of the city. Every stone, every window in the old town, seems to tell a past story. Here we not only found the imprint of history, but also discovered the charm of modern art.
When we finished a day's exploration, our hearts were filled with satisfaction and gratitude. The old town of Valencia, in its unique way, gave us an unforgettable travel experience. The graffiti walls here show the city's youth and vitality, and the mouth-watering seafood rice makes us rave about Valencia's food culture.
This journey has made us more convinced that travel is not just about seeing the scenery, but also about experiencing life and feeling culture. We look forward to setting foot on this charming land again, continuing to explore the infinite possibilities of Spain.
