Cagbalete Island is a quiet island getaway that has been rising in popularity among backpackers and budget travelers. Located just off the coast of Mauban town proper in Quezon just a few hours from Manila, this island offers beautiful beachfront campsites and a wide white-sand beach. It’s not a place for partygoers, but more for nature tripping. Don’t expect five-star resorts or lots of dining options. Despite its proximity to Manila, Cagbalete Island still feels laid-back and remote. It was a spontaneous trip with my friends to Cagbalete Island on a long weekend. This island was peaceful and not too crowded, though it might be a different story during summer. The beach has shallow waters and you'd have to transfer to a mini boat as the biggers ones will not be able to dock up to the shore of Pansacola Beach. We took a private boat so we went straight to the resort but people can take the public pne that takes them to the public dock, which was also not too far away from a few resorts. You can do so many activities such as island hopping, snorkeling, beach volley, kayaking, and many more! Good for a relaxing out of town trip! #philippines #beach #cagbalete

4-hour drive from Manila via a motorcycle. The road to Sampaloc-Mauban was the best! We arrived at the resort around 9am just in time for low tide. The rock formation simply added to the already amazing views of the beach.
