After visiting the little Venice - Colmar, we headed to the Petit France - Strasbourg! It is just around 30 -40 mins train ride. Thanks to the good weather again, we had a pleasant walk throughout the old town to main street, had a good look at the marvelous Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg, visited all the little shops around and enjoyed the christmasy atmosphere there.

Strasbourg truly felt like a Christmas wonderland, with charm and holiday spirit at every corner!

I have always been interested in the city of Strasbourg, and finally, on this trip south from Germany, I had the chance to pass through this city. Strasbourg is home to the European Parliament, so many important European figures live nearby, making hotels in Strasbourg quite expensive. Therefore, I stayed at a hotel in a border city in Germany. When I arrived on the first day, it was already evening and raining heavily. Despite the rain, the city was still very charming, with the church illuminated by nearby lights, looking magnificent. Due to the heavy rain, I went to a nearby Japanese restaurant and had a shrimp curry rice for only 12 euros, and the portion was very generous. After eating, I walked around the nearby area before taking a tram back to my hotel in Kehl. It only took a 20-minute tram ride to travel from France to Germany, which felt quite amazing. The next morning, I returned to France from Germany to visit the famous European Parliament building. No reservation was needed, and it was free, making it well worth the visit. After spending a few hours there, I left Strasbourg, taking one last look at the church before departing.

France has always been a romantic country, Paris is beautiful, but not as good as some small towns or ancient towns. This time we went to Strasbourg, a small town with rivers and ancient buildings. It takes about two hours or so by train from Paris to this ancient little town on the very eastern side, and wandering the streets is like going back to the old days, as there are still many old buildings and stone tiled ground preserved here because there is a river in the city, so taking a tour through the city, listening to the brief of the guide is best however. The interior of Notre Dame in Strasbourg is marvelous. In the true Gothic style, the soaring vault, impressive alter, and the large stained glass window really caught my eye. Unfortunately I didn't have the right camera for the low-light conditions inside and I didn't want to be disrespectful with my flash.
