After visiting the little Venice - Colmar, we headed to the Petit France - Strasbourg! It is just around 30 -40 mins train ride. Thanks to the good weather again, we had a pleasant walk throughout the old town to main street, had a good look at the marvelous Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg, visited all the little shops around and enjoyed the christmasy atmosphere there.

The streets and historic center were beautifully decorated with lights, creating a magical atmosphere. I enjoyed Alsatian dishes and seasonal delights, visited the stunning Strasbourg Cathedral, and even went ice skating. Strasbourg truly felt like a Christmas wonderland, with charm and holiday spirit at every corner!

I have always been interested in the city of Strasbourg, and finally, on this trip south from Germany, I had the chance to pass through this city. Strasbourg is home to the European Parliament, so many important European figures live nearby, making hotels in Strasbourg quite expensive. Therefore, I stayed at a hotel in a border city in Germany. When I arrived on the first day, it was already evening and raining heavily. Despite the rain, the city was still very charming, with the church illuminated by nearby lights, looking magnificent. Due to the heavy rain, I went to a nearby Japanese restaurant and had a shrimp curry rice for only 12 euros, and the portion was very generous. After eating, I walked around the nearby area before taking a tram back to my hotel in Kehl. It only took a 20-minute tram ride to travel from France to Germany, which felt quite amazing. The next morning, I returned to France from Germany to visit the famous European Parliament building. No reservation was needed, and it was free, making it well worth the visit. After spending a few hours there, I left Strasbourg, taking one last look at the church before departing.

Ever heard of this place called Strasbourg, I'm as confused as it is where some say its German some say its France but for a fact this place is a city in France where it has some influence of the German architrave culture. The Iconic place in strasbourg is the Notre Dame Catherdral located at 6 parvis notre dame, 75004 Paris where this is a medieval catholic cathedral dedicated to the Virgin mary. The cathedral itself looks marvelous, somewhat you see in the movies but sadly it isn't open due to some fire happened sometime again and it's in restoration. But still you are able to admire the building from the outside, especially the colourful glass tainted windows. Also the city of Strasbourg has many medieval buildings and its a sight to see. Lastly, do not forget to visit L'atelier 116 located at 116 grand rule, 67000 strasbourg where they serve amazing breakfast, basically this is a artisans bakery and passtierie where its made and baked on site. The interior of Notre Dame in Strasbourg is marvelous. In the true Gothic style, the soaring vault, impressive alter, and the large stained glass window really caught my eye. Unfortunately I didn't have the right camera for the low-light conditions inside and I didn't want to be disrespectful with my flash. It is one of the most striking Catholic Cathedrals in France with impressive Gothic architecture. Walking up to and around Strasbourg Cathedral is definitely the best way to take in the architecture in all of its entirety. Inside the Cathedral, there is an astronomical clock, also known as the “three kings clock”, located at the far right of the Cathedral. Well worth a visit as you will be in awe! On our way from Baden-Baden to Black forest village, we dropped by at Strasbourg which is just at the edge of France border next to Germany. Lovely town with a mix of Germany Architecture buildings. Its a Must visit place for those who love France. The place has few good Italian pizzas restaurants and cafes. Could not remember the names but we pondered on them based on the rating in google map.

Be sure to be there early as possible to. Visitation is free of charge to enter the church. You may take great pictures outside and also inside the church. There is also a viewing platform upstairs with a fee. Be aware of certain people that ask for monies outside the church. These are scammers. Also there are plenty of souvenir shops outside at the square and also great cafes and restaurants facing the front of the church facade.
