Trip to Antwerp, Belgium 🇧🇪
It was a trip to Antwerp, Belgium with family. Antwerp is a city bursting with art, history, and stunning architecture ✍️
One of our first stops was Grote Markt, the main square of Antwerp. Surrounded by beautifully ornate guild houses and the Antwerp City Hall, it was the perfect place to begin our exploration. The square feels magical, especially in the morning when the sunlight casts a soft glow on the golden facades ✨ We took our time here, snapping photos 📸 of the historical buildings and the impressive Brabo Fountain in the center. For the best lighting and to avoid crowds, I’d recommend visiting early in the day.

We also explored the iconic Cathedral of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal), a UNESCO World Heritage site that towers over the city. The cathedral’s gothic architecture is breathtaking, and the interior is equally awe-inspiring, with beautiful stained glass windows and works by the artist Peter Paul Rubens 🙌 We visited in the late morning when the sunlight streamed through the windows, casting colorful patterns on the stone floor. It was an excellent time to capture both the exterior and the intricate details inside. Don’t forget to take a photo 📸 of the towering spire, it’s one of the tallest in Belgium.

A short walk from the Cathedral, we found ourselves at the Antwerp Central Station, often regarded as one of the most beautiful train 🚂 stations in the world. The station’s majestic architecture, featuring a stunning dome and intricate tilework, makes for a striking photo from almost every angle. We recommend visiting in the early afternoon when the light shines ✨ through the glass roof, creating a mesmerizing effect. The station is not only an architectural marvel but also a vibrant transportation hub, which adds to its charm 😍

One of our favorite spots for photography was the Museum aan de Stroom (MAS), a modern museum located along the waterfront. The building itself is a work of art, with its unique, stacked design. The panoramic views of the city from the rooftop terrace were simply stunning 🤩 We visited at sunset, which was the perfect time to capture the golden hour light over Antwerp’s skyline and the Scheldt River. If you’re into cityscape photography, this spot is an absolute must 📸

No trip to Antwerp would be complete without a visit to the Rubenshuis, the former home of the famous Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens 🙌 The house 🏠 itself is an art piece, with its elegant courtyards and beautiful gardens. Inside, we admired the collection of Rubens’ works, and the light filtering through the windows made for some perfect shots 📸
Antwerp is a very beautiful city and we hope to visit it again 🙌🙌🙌
