A day trip from Rome to Naples! Why just a day trip, you ask? Well, Naples is known for having a bit of a reputation when it comes to safety... So, being a bit cautious, I decided to explore Naples as a day trip from Rome. But it's just a few hours by train! Naples is a smaller city compared to Rome! Make sure to visit Castel Sant'Elmo for its amazing views! And of course, you can't miss Naples pizza! 🍕 I accidentally asked the staff for their recommendation and ended up with a Marinara, so I missed out on trying a Margherita. But you absolutely must try the Margherita! 😂 It's best to visit pizzerias right after they open! At first glance, they might seem like they're only doing takeout, but many actually have dine-in options, so be sure to ask the staff! Other must-dos include checking out the Galleria and trying Naples' famous dessert, Sfogliatella—a pastry with multiple layers of dough. You can snack on it while walking around! The city is also filled with tributes to the legendary Maradona, which is quite amusing.

Naples was the first stop for our mother and son pair 2 weeks trip to Italy. We were only spending 2 days here before we went to Rome, so it was quite a packed itinerary. Our B&B, DomisCarmela was located at the heart of the Spanish Quarters, and took a 20mins transfer from the airport to the place. There was a bit of apprehension about Naples, from friends and online talking about the cleanliness and crime of the city. The city however, was actually quite clean, and we felt generally safe there. The streets were quite quiet and there wasn't much people in the morning, but when afternoon came, the streets were very crowded. Everywhere we wanted to go was quite accessible, and we walked to majority of the sites, with an exception to Castel Sant Elmo where we had to take a funicular up and down from the city. We spent the whole day walking around, taking in the lovely culture of the streets, visiting world class museums and having delicious local food. We even went for a tour of the underground network underneath Naples, which was well documented and explained by our local guide. Overall, it was a great start and exposure to our Italy trip, and I recommend naples to anyone thinking of coming. We could have spend 1-2 more days so as to enjoy the place even more, but we felt that it was enough. Off the Rome next! #naples #travel #italy

🌆🌄Naples is a magical place with a history of over 2,500 years. Although it looks a little run-down, it hides many hidden gems.🏰🌟 🏰🌟The Certosa di San Martino and Castel Sant'Elmo occupy the entire Vomero Hill and are one of the hidden gems of Naples. Although they don't look beautiful, they are definitely worth a visit.🌋🌆 📸🌅Take the metro Line 1 to Vantitelli Station, then walk a short distance to the top of the hill. The monastery has beautiful churches, courtyards, cloisters, and rooms to explore. Then go to the castle next door. After visiting the interior, there is a large courtyard terrace outside where you can overlook the entire city of Naples. Climb to the top of the castle at sunset to enjoy the sunset and the beautiful night view of Naples, one of the world's top three night views.📸🌅 🌄🇮🇹Naples is a complex ancient city with many hidden gems. South Italy, from Rome, Naples to Sicily, is worth savoring and exploring deeply. Naples, Napoli, is located in the Campania region, about a 2-3 hour drive from Rome. The seaside of Naples features the Castel dell’Ovo and Castel Nuovo. Why are the Chinese translations of 'Egg Castle' and 'New Castle' so interesting? Napoli does indeed have a bit of a Southern California vibe, thanks to the Mediterranean climate. Why do the wealthy generally love the Mediterranean climate for holiday destinations? Next to Castel Santelmo, there is a viewpoint where you can overlook Naples, with the distant snow-capped mountains🏔️ and the clear view of the port⚓️ docks. Rented a Citroën C3, which is compact and nimble, very nice to drive, except for a bit less stability on the highway. Gasoline in Europe⛽️ is really expensive, 40 euros for only 20 liters.

We went there before sunset and we got to see this beautiful scenery. This is one of the best attraction in Napoli for sure.

Castel Sant’Elmo is located in the city of Naples, province of Campania, in the country of Italy. The Castel towers over the city on a hill and it is large, walkable, and quite old as expected for a historic monument. From this location, you can see most of all of the city of Naples and it is beautiful to be able to see Mount Vesuvius from this hilltop as well as the water. There are plenty of Coffee Bars, stores, and restaurants around the Castel so don’t worry about being able to eat or buy something to boost your energy when walking through this huge Castel.
