My husband and I visited the Capitol Theatre in the heart of town, a heritage building that has been conserved for its historic significance! It is easily accessible via the underground tunnel to the City Hall train station. Currently, the interiors house many modern restaurants and we enjoyed dinner at one called Hopscotch. The ambience is so lovely here as the natural light comes through the ceiling and windows, wonderful for relaxing in! The food is a bit of a hit and miss though, I liked the beef and mash but the fusion minced meat noodles was tasted a little odd. #celebratewithtrip visited Capitol theatre and this is located in Singapore city hall . the nearest train station is city hall and available in both green and red lines. the theatre is actually very nice and the exterior of it somehow reminds me of retro vibes and I really liked it. in the theatre it looks very grand as well and I believe performances are being held and conducted here. examples could be musical performances. nearby there are also many food options available here so you won’t have to worry about being hungry. they may be pricey though. otherwise you can head to funan mall which is just beside and you can find cheaper options there.

My first experience in Capitol theatre watching the local show of Meenah & Cheenah in May 2022. The interior seats are classic chairs (iykyk) and had some interesting neoclassical architecture. Will look forward to my next visit there! Also, if it matters, Capitol building mall has bidet in their toilets! p/s: check out Capitol Theatre at night! Google it!

Award winning bakery from Taiwan! Saw many good reviews online and decided to give it a try once in my lifetime since it was along my way home. Haha. It was along the main road and very accessible near the City Hall mrt. Top award was the lychee bread. Not cheap for a small loaf yet I still see people buying it. $16.80 for a small loaf! But taste was great & fragrant! Sesame mochi was also very rich. But the curry chicken bread was a bit too oily for me. If not for the price, I would have bought more of other breads. Captiol Theatre located at cityhall is a iconic historical cinema that was first opened and built by M.A Namazie in 1930s. But the recent renovation from 2011-2015, capitol theatre reopend and turning it into a home for arts. It is also connected with a high-end retail mall with a residence and hotel combined. There are several up-class restaurants like Hopscotch, Holy Crab, Famous Treasure and Broadway American Diner which we tried. Prices for the burgers here can be abit on the higher end but the fries, burgers and milkshakes lives up to its name! This all American themed diner alsp brings back memories on how an American diner should not only feel like, but look like. Location: City Hall Area Getting here: City Hall MRT station This is one of the really interesting places to visit in Singapore. At one end you will find famous shopping centres such as Raffles City Shopping Centre, while just next to them you will find iconic historical building like our Capitol Theatre, Supreme Court, National Gallery Singapore and Chijmes etc. For visitors visiting this place for the first time, I will highly recommend to first allocate time to visit the historical places as you will learn and see a lot about the history of Singapore here, including stories about how this buildings were related to the World War II. When night falls, this place turns into a entertainment district with many bars and restaurants around the area. You will also find beautiful lights on the building showcasing a really beautiful scene of Singapore! #cityscapes

Visited the Broadway American Diner located at Capitol. It is pretty cute but it wasn’t as big as I thought. My friend has the Angus beef burger and it was pretty good but wasn’t spectacular. I had the chicken noodles soup because it’s quite unique to find restaurants selling American style chicken noodle soup in Singapore. It was pretty basic, chicken soup with some diced vegetables and spaghetti! The all-American-themed diner in Singapore brings wholesome family fun with juicy burgers. With a nostalgic menu starred by its housemade patties and freshly baked, chemical-free buns. Complete with tasty milkshakes, ice cream and fun desserts.

Now, after some renovations over years, it still looks high-class but in a neo-classical and vintage style. At this time, the building is being functioned as a venue for concert, convention and wedding. The closest metro station is City Hall Station and it’s a minute walking away from the station.

If you are looking for a light snack during the tea time hours , you can visit the kopi and tart cafe to enjoy a bite of the crispy tuna or chicken puff. Together with their signature Portuguese cheese tarts there.

Do try it if you are along that area. The Capitol tower is also home to many restaurants .You can stay at the Capitol kempinksi which is just beside the Capitol tower .You can walk to the raffles city shopping mall within a five minutes walk . From there you can further walk to the marina square, Suntec city shopping mall, and the millenia walk . It is definitely a great place to visit and stay here .

Capitol Theatre is an architectural and lifestyle gem in the heart of Singapore’s civic and cultural district. The exterior of the building looked so classic. Off I went to the inside of the theatre. The interior was so nice, it's like attending those opera shows that you see in shows.
