Standing Stones
Calanais standing stones is a landmark located on Isle of Lewis. Scotland have quite a few similar places but this is the main one. The stones in the movie Outlander were based on Calanais stones. To get there you need to have a car. There are a few places to see the stones around. There are 4 locations in total.
How to get there: The sones are located on the west side of Isle of Lewis, around 30min drive from Stornoway.

Sea stacks
That’s a place to see for a day visit if you’re on Isle of Lewis for a few days. Mangersta sea stacks is definitely a place to be at for a bit. You need to drive to get there as there’s barely any public transport on the island.
How to get there: take a ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway and then drive for just a bit over an hour to Mangersta Sea stacks on the west side of the island.

Uig beach, Isle of Lewis, Scotland
Scotland's Isle of Lewis, has, along with its sister Isle of Harris, the most exceptional beaches. Like the Caribbean in all but temperature: the soul-liftingly clear turquoise waters; the fine, white sand it is a joy to skip along, with just the wind remind you that you're as far from anywhere as you'll ever be, in the Outer Hebrides.
Uig Beach itself, or Uig Sands, is our pick - an unusually stunning landscape with bright, inviting waters. 'Here are golden shifting sand dunes, machair grassland, myriad islets and rugged cliffs,' writes former Acting Deputy Editor Michelle Jana Chan, who wishes she could once more 'camp here on the springy moss, awaken to the trill of the curlew, and then kite-surf at high tide in the shallow waters.'
The waters are similarly bright and clear, the sands as fine and fair on the Isle of Lewis's other beautiful beaches: Cappadale Sands, also in Uig Bay, the cliff-flanked cove of Mangersta Sands, or sweeping Reef Beach where you can go beachcombing along the shoreline for shells.

Scotland’s EPIC Island!
Visiting the Isle of Lewis on the west coast of Scotland is worthwhile for several reasons:
1. **Stunning Landscapes**: The Isle of Lewis offers breathtaking natural scenery, including rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and beautiful beaches.
2. **Historical Sites**: It is home to significant historical landmarks, such as the Callanish Standing Stones, which are older than Stonehenge.
3. **Rich Culture**: The island has a strong Gaelic heritage, and you can experience traditional music, crafts, and local festivals.
4. **Wildlife**: Lewis provides opportunities to see diverse wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and occasionally whales.
5. **Outdoor Activities**: There are ample opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the natural beauty of the island.
These aspects make the Isle of Lewis a compelling destination for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and those seeking a unique cultural experience.

Outer Hebr
Outer Hebrides can be regarded as a remote area of the Su-Highland, and you can take a boat to the sea island on Sky Island or Aleppo. But in general, the sadness of the wilderness under the storm, the narrow seaside cliff road is not a popular travel taste after all.
The standing stones here have a fairly long history and are relatively well preserved in Europe, but since there is no background knowledge, I have not been able to understand their possible functions. There are many uninhabited islands in the
outer Hebrides, which can be returned to and from the boat on the same day. Perhaps it is more suitable for holidaymakers who like to stay away from the city and focus on sea fishing and wilderness activities.
