Nantou Ren'ai - Hometown of Clouds | Wujie Tribe | (A holiday dancing with nature)
Wujie, located at an altitude of 800 meters, is a beautiful secret place on the Internet and a tribe known as the "Hometown of Clouds".
This time I signed up for a 2-day, 1-night package tour to the aboriginal tribe. The locals took me to see the vast natural wonders, experience local delicacies with them, make bamboo tube rice, drink their homemade millet wine, indulge myself in the repressed life, and return to the most simple and natural life.
The narrow gap between two mountains allows you to see the beauty of the space between them. We walk across the gravel road and the stream. Our tour guide also taught us how to identify the local dragon-patterned stones. He joked that if we found a huge dragon-patterned stone, it might be worth tens of millions.
Of course, what we found were all mini nail versions. This kind of stone that is made of stone, jade and metal is really rare. However, the stones on the road also have many beautiful patterns. After taking pictures, we don’t take them away. What we take away are only beautiful photos and sweet memories.
I have seen in the news that many people travel here by car. I would recommend that you take a trip to the tribal homestay, because the streams and paths here can change at any time due to the weather, and it is very dangerous if you are unfamiliar with the place. The locals’ cars are all modified, and they have been living in the mountains since childhood, so it is much safer.
The last time we went to Yitiantian, it was drizzling on the way back. The tour guide looked at the sky and urged us to get on the car and return. I didn't take it seriously at first, but less than three minutes after getting on the car, it started to rain heavily. The gravel road we had come from suddenly had 10 centimeters of water. The tour guide said that if it was any later, the tide would rise and become a creek, and most cars would be scrapped if they drove over here.
It sounds a bit scary, but I'm glad I was traveling with a tour group and didn't drive the car over here😂
There are many B&Bs that are responsible for the journey here. You can choose a B&B you like and just ask the price of the package tour. I bought it at the travel fair, but after talking with the B&B owner, they could also take it themselves. The price is the same, and the price changes with time. At that time, I bought it for 5,000 per person, including all itineraries + food, accommodation, three meals + midnight snacks. Now it seems that the price has increased. You can do a little homework when you are going to find a B&B that suits you and come to Wujie to experience the hometown of clouds.
