Orang utan Island is located at bukit merah and is one of the best orang utan rehabilitation and conservation centres in the world. A verry educational tour you will be accompanying by a staff that will explain the conservation efforts as you walk along 200m cages area.We got to see many orang utan. Bukit Merah orangutan island is a sanctuary for rescued orangutans, it is only accessible by boat, I think it was opened in 2000, it looks after critically endangered borneo orangutan. It has beautiful jungle paths to walk and the orangutan are in massive enclosures, I think there was 12 orangutans there when I was there, you get a guide to take you round and they explain all the work that is happening. It was an amazing experience #Orangutan

Definitely worth a visit. Good educational place for a family outing. We enjoyed it thoroughly although the place is quite small and the tour was short. We got to see many orang utans.
