As a perfect example of how people of different beliefs can co-exist, Singapore's Buddha tooth relic temple 🏯 is situated a few metres away from. a Hindu temple which again is a famous religious spot. The whole atmosphere symbolizes happiness and hope with different colored ties hanging around and fresh green leaves 🌿from budding plants. It also displays the clear contrast of old and new, with sky high buildings right next to this temple. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this temple, if you go around.#urbanexplorer#tripblazers#summervacation

A self-walk around Chinatown
Singapore Chinatown offers various interesting insights about multi-cultural, multi-racial Singapore.
Who would have thought you can find the oldest Hindu temple right in the midst of Chinatown.
You can start your walking tour from the Smith Street to Pagoda Street. All these lanes are so close to each other, making the self-walking tour very achievable.
Do explore some wall mural in this area as well.

Singapore Chinatown, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
The Longhua Temple in Singapore's Chinatown was completed in 2007.
The reason why it is named the Temple of the Buddha's Tooth is because there is a rare treasure enshrined in the temple - the tooth relic of Shakyamuni Buddha.
.
According to the official introduction of Longhua Temple of the Buddha's Tooth, the Buddha's tooth relic enshrined in the temple was discovered in 1980 by a Burmese monk during the cleaning of a pagoda.
Later, the high monk entrusted it to Master Fazhao in Singapore for safekeeping, and instructed him to build a temple to house it. In 2005, Master Fazhao built the Longhua Temple of the Buddha Tooth Relic.
.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth does not require an entrance fee, and visitors do not need to take off their shoes inside the temple. However, visitors are required to wear clothing that covers their knees, otherwise they will need to use a cloth wrap.
.
Inside the Longhua Temple of the Buddha's Tooth, there is an elevator that goes to each floor upstairs. The first floor is the Baolong Palace, the second floor is the exhibition hall, the third floor is the cultural relics exhibition hall, and the fourth floor is the Lingguang Palace. The rooftop is the Wanfo Pavilion and the garden.
.
The Buddha Tooth Relic is stored in a stupa made of gold in the Lingguang Hall on the fourth floor. Visitors can view the Buddha Tooth Relic through glass, but photography is not allowed.
.
If you want to shoot the panoramic view of Longhua Temple in Chinatown, the best position is on the upper floors of a group of houses next to the Chinatown Complex, with different perspectives on each floor starting from the fourth floor.
From here, you can take a photo with the foreground of Longhua Temple's Dragon Flower Hall and the background of the CBD skyscrapers in the far distance.

Chinatown is a must visit place in Singapore. 3 to 4 bus stops away from city hall. Hop onto the purple and blue line train which brings you to Chinatown station NE4 DT19.
The temple opens at 9am in the morning. Admission is free for all. It closes early in the evening. Be sure to have your prayers in mind. Be sure to dress appropriately. Best to wear long sleeves and pants when entering the temple to show your respect. Remember to silent your phone when entering the temple.
Just beside the temple is yummy food paradise. Lots of awards winning local delicacies are waiting for you to taste them. Good to try their famous chicken rice . I would also strongly recommend the nonya store opened by 5 uncles selling authentic nonya foods, and also famous 2nd aunt 二姑 desert store for their sesame and walnut paste desert.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a popular and impressive temple which you should visit if you are in Singapore. The recommended sightseeing time is half an hour or maximum one hour. The temple is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see in person.
I strongly recommend to be respectful and discreet when taking pictures. Be quiet and don’t forget that this is not JUST a tourist attraction but also an active religious place where people still worships and celebrate their beliefs.
There is also a small museum next to it so don’t miss it out. The museum has some relics and other historical items.

Address - Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum, 288 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058840
Situated in the heart of Chinatown, this temple and museum was designed and built to have a traditional aesthetic that would allow it to flow with the rest of the Chinatown landscape. Specifically, it has a Northern China influence on its architecture as that reflects that of the Chinese Buddhists of the Tang Dynasty.
Within the walls of this 4-storey building are various exhibits on Buddhist history and art works. Entry is free to both locals and tourists for those looking to learn more about Buddhist traditions dating back many centuries ago!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No matter how many times I visit, I’m always in awe of the artwork, structure and relics/statues/figurines. Go visit and see for yourself! Oh, and while you’re there, you can also donate and offer a prayer or two. 😊

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (Singapore)
The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a tour to Singapore's Chinatown. Comprising 4 levels built in traditional Chinese architecture, the temple gained its name from the supposed relic of Buddha found in a collapsed stupa. Whether you believe this is Buddha's tooth of not, the exhibit itself can be viewed by public at level 4 of the temple. The basement of the temple contains a vegetarian dining hall that serves free meals to the needy, although covid restrictions means the dining use is either scaled back or suspended. Visitors may also need to show proof of vaccination status in order to enter the temple

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
This Buddhist temple which has a museum inside it is located in Chinatown Singapore.
I was advice to visit it by a local guide and it was really interested and beautiful inside.
The entrance is free which it is good. Make sure you dress modestly as there is a dress code to get inside.
You will be able to see monks during their ceremony on the ground floor and if you take the staircase you will find the museum with many images, statues and explanations about Buddha’s life. Around 45min. should be enough to explore the temple.
If you are around Chinatown pop inside or if you want to see a beautiful free Buddhist temple during your stay in Singapore do not miss it!

#singaporetrip Singapore Chinatown Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
Located in the historic district of Chinatown, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum’s richly designed interiors and comprehensive exhibits on Buddhist art and history tell stories of culture over thousands of years old. Built in 2007, the temple gets its name from what the Buddhists regard as the left canine tooth of Buddha, which has been recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India and displayed on the temple’s grounds.
This Tang-styled Chinese Buddhist temple was conceptualised and designed by the temple’s Chief Abbot Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, with the help of local and overseas consultants. It costs S$75 million to set up, and is based on various elements of Tang Dynasty architecture. The building’s design was inspired by the Buddhist Mandala, a symbol of Buddhist culture that represents the universe.
The Buddhist Culture Museum on the third floor holds an array of revered artefacts of the Buddha, such as bone and tongue relics, and the Sacred Light Hall on the fourth floor contains the temple’s centrepiece.
The Buddha Tooth Relic is housed in a giant stupa weighing a whopping 3,500 kilograms and made from 320 kilograms of gold, of which 234 kilograms were donated by devotees. Only monks are allowed into the relic chamber, but visitors will be able to see the tooth relic from the public viewing area.
Other highlights include the Eminent Sangha Museum, a theatre that holds cultural performances, talks and film screenings. If you’re looking for a little quiet contemplation amid Chinatown’s hubbub, the roof garden, with its pagoda and Buddha prayer wheel, offers a tranquil hideaway.
Shakyamuni Buddha was believed to have gained insight into the true nature of being, and perfected the qualities of wisdom and compassion over 2,500 years ago. Today, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple carries on the legacy of his teachings through the ‘Discovering Buddhism’ workshop. Travellers can gain more insight into Buddhism at this interactive workshop led by the temple’s resident venerables.
