Best Things to DoNo.5 of Best Things to Do in Bergen
Historic buildings

The area of unique gabled roof homes lined up facing Wolgen Bay is the Bryggen area. As a representative of medieval Norwegian architecture, it is listed as a World Heritage Site. The famous fish market, the Bryggen Museum, the Hockensohn Palace, the Church of Mary and the Rozenkurantz Tower are nearby. Walking between the buildings, experiencing the prosperity of the Hanseatic city, walking inside, the buildings are surrounded by buildings, layer by layer, very interesting. A fire in 1702 destroyed all the buildings except the Hanseatic Museum, which has since been restored. However, in 1955, a fire occurred again, which made some buildings unable to be restored to their original state, which is regrettable. Now, the outside of the building is mainly used for restaurants, while the inside is often used as an artist's studio.
