🇵🇭 🔝Bohol - must see⤴️
🌟One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the unique attractions that Bohol has to offer, including the Tarsier Conservation Area and the Butterfly Sanctuary.
1️⃣The Tarsier Conservation Area was an absolute delight. These adorable, tiny creatures are native to the Philippines, and getting to see them up close in their natural habitat was a truly magical experience. The conservation area is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and conducive environment for the tarsiers, allowing visitors like me to observe them without causing any disturbance. It was incredible to witness their big, expressive eyes and witness their nimble movements as they leaped from tree to tree. ✅The knowledgeable guides provided insightful information about the tarsiers and their conservation efforts, which made the experience even more meaningful.
🌟Aside from the attractions, Bohol itself is a stunning island that offers so much more. Its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush green landscapes create a postcard-perfect backdrop for any adventure. Whether snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs, cruising along the Loboc River, or exploring the mysterious Chocolate Hills, every moment felt like a dream come true. Definitely will be back.

Tiny Tarsiers!
With its tail longer than its body, it has large brown eyes, hairless ears and long finger-like claws. It has gray fur and a nearly naked tail that is more often than not about 232 mm in length. The tails arc over their back when they hop on the ground apparently to balance themselves. The underside of the tail has dermal ridges such as those found on human hands and feet.
Tarsiers have large mesmerizing eyes whose bony eye sockets are larger than that of its brain case as well as of its stomach. The eye sockets have post-orbital closure which keeps the eyeballs from being pressed against by the powerful temporal muscles to their sides.
Second encounter with these endangered species.
It’s true, they are mesmerizing and it’s really sad to know that only a few made it after typhoon Odette struck this beautiful island of Bohol.
Nevertheless, we were delighted to see them even though they appeared to be sleepy during our visit 😅

I've found my happiness, Welcome to Bohol!
"Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling." Welcome to Bohol!
One of the most beautiful place I visited in Bohol is the Tarsier Conservation Area located in Loboc, Bohol. I capture the moment as the tarsier that time is awake and I was really amaze with their little hand but their eyes are really big. I must say that this place were really worth it even if it's far from the airport.
I really had fun visiting this place and was able to see those tarsier. Also, in order for you to proceed in the tarsier viewing, you have to pay for Php100 per head. The staffs are accommodating and kind to take photos of me with the tarsier. However, you have to be quite as the tarsiers are nocturnal and must not create a noise if you will go there by morning. There are also a lot of travel agencies who offers tourist attraction package which you can also avail. We availed 1 package for 7 persons and that costs Php549 per head excluding the payment for entrance in every tourists spot you will enter.
I can definitely recommend this Tarsier Conservation Area as you will also loved the scenery going to the garden wherein the tarsiers are located. The place was also has good viewing area and it is also refreshing and calming.

Tarsier: Smallest Primate in the World
If you want to see a tarsier, go to the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary in Corella, Bohol. It's about 3 hours from Tagbilaran City. Tarsiers are nocturnal and sleep during the day. You can take pictures at the sanctuary but no flash! They are the smallest primates in the world with adults weighing only 3-5 ounces. Due to habitat loss, tarsiers are now considered an endangered species. Tarsiers in Bohol live in groups of 3 or 4 individuals plus their young. They communicate with each other using high-pitched squeaks audible only to other tarsiers' ears.

Tarsier for Sure- BOHOL
What a happy experience it was especially for my husband to have seen the adorable Tarsiers of Bohol for the very first time in his life. He was so amazed that he got even a little emotional. He’s really not the emotional type but for some reason, he was at that time.
Oh how he wished he could bring them to Germany with him.
My husband was also delighted to have been able to buy some souvenirs from the Conservation Area for my in-laws. We bought some tarsier keychains and ref. magnets for a very affordable price. Too bad the shirts were too small so we couldn’t buy some.
It is a really beautiful and rare creature. So glad that Boholanos are protecting them.

Tarsiers in Bohol!

Tarsiers are definitely one of the must see animals when visiting the Bohol City in Philippines. They are nocturnal animals that look like small monkeys and they only breed twice a year, one baby at a time - which is why they are considered endangered species.
These species are currently protected under the Bohol Philippines Tarsier Conservation Area. Visitors are allowed to take pictures without camera flash as it may add stress to the tarsiers.

Exploring the Tarsier Sanctuary in Bohol
This is the Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc. It is a sanctuary(not official) where you can observe the Tarsiers in Bohol close up and learn more about their nature. Exploring the area will take you on a fun little jungle walk, just follow the pebbled pathway around the sanctuary.
It is strictly observed to maintain silence to avoid interrupting the Tarsier’s sleep. Turn off your camera flash as well.
Getting there:
DIY: Rent a scooter in the main tourist area of Panglao and make the 1-hour drive to Loboc. Scooter rentals in Panglao are around 300 – 350 pesos per day.
With a tour.
Entrance fee:
80 pesos.

Anything travels
If you like crowds and love paying fees...
Bohol has become a shadow of what it was just a decade ago. The blatant greed of the tourism industry has ruined what was once a peaceful, beautiful destination. For any ferry, attraction or travel on the island, you can be assured you will make multiple payments to multiple people before you set foot on the place you set out to see or experience. Panglao is ruined. The tours are not worth it. Best find a place less travelled where tourists are appreciated and not taken for granted as a source to squeeze money from.

Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area 🇵🇭
The Philippine Tarsier viewing experience lasts about 20 minutes, during which you can spot around 5 to 8 of these fascinating creatures. Each viewing station is staffed with attentive guides who not only ensure your safety but also assist in capturing memorable photographs. This is my first time to see a tarsier. It's definitely a worthwhile experience!
