Visiting to the spot from the Lijiang Old Town, it is merely 30 km away and you can either choose the public transportation such as bus, taxi or take a through bus at Yuhe Parking Lot near the northern gate of Lijiang Old Down. It's part of the snow Mountain Park, but it's definitely much better than the mountain. This is an underrated attraction at the park. The water is crystal clear and offers stunning views of the mountain. Every couple of hundred meters there is another waterfall. Sadly however, the walkways by the waterfalls are often not set up well for photography. Even on a quiet day its hard to get good shots because people or wooden walkways get in the way. Despite this, the lake is still well worth a visit. Tips: - After taking the bus to blue moon valley, walk down the road to the lake. The electric car is a waste of money and you'll get some private views of the lake - For the best shots, cross the lake where the yak is, and take the path up to the right where you can find an amazing view of the lake

After your visit to Yunshanping forest park, the bus takes you to Blue Moon Valley. There are four lakes connected with waterfalls. You can walk around the lakes or sit by the lake and enjoy the scenery. We visited in August during summer holidays and it was packed with people but still we were able to enjoy. Small tip: If you want to enjoy the scenery on the first photo, walk on your right side when you take off the bus. We walked to the other side and had to walk back to enjoy this view. Definitely worth it!

One of the best feelings ever! That breeze was beyond satisfaction. Fresh air, Great tress, crystal clear water that makes you want to dive in and drink it. The view is spectacular and walking along the path was one of my favourite activities in Lijiang. I strongly suggest you try it as soon as possible. Great place to take photos too. You may be lucky to come across a yak and sit on it for a photo. Make sure you explore it!

Expectations and reality
First scenic stop that everyone is recommending is Blue Moon Valley. On pictures it looks amazing and it's mostly used as a photo opportunity. You can rent some local clothes, walk around, take pics with yak etc. Driving from Lijiang was ok, lot of parking space nearby gate where you can take a bus to scenic spot. We tried to bypass this, but at the end we didn't have anywhere to park nearby. Disappointment was that this is not natural lake, bottom of the lake is even painted in that nice blue shade. Clouds were covering mountain tops, so we didn't have luck with that either. We went to Yak medow and ended up in foggy surroundings. At least you can go there by car and park for free. This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been in China. The sceneries are incredible! It's. more beautiful than expected. The lake is super clean and blue, it is generated by the water aggregation of the snow mountain, it is transparent and gem-like. The Yulong Snow Mountain background in the distance is spectacular. You can have the best shots if Mr. Sun is in the mood. I rented ethnic costumes, 15 shots for 198 yuan including the make-up. Getting There - After visiting Jade Snow Mountain, you can hop on a bus from there and get a ride to this scenic spot. (Free) If coming from downtown Lijiang, take a DiDi. Attractions - Blue Moon Valley in an incredibly beautiful place. The water is turquoise and quite clear. I’ve traveled to quite a few places and this particular scenic spot is one of my favorites in China! ❤️ Hotels - No need. I recommend you get a hotel closer to the ancient town instead. You can visit both Jade Snow Mountain and Blue Moon Valley in one day. The wonders of Yunnan- Blue Moon Valley
Blue Moon Valley is a river that flows from the ice capped Dragon Snow Mountain. It is located inside the same park as the Dragon Snow Mountain, and a ticket grants you access to both. I went with a small tour group, and I found that it just made the admin a lot easier. Our tour cost around 300¥ and it included all tickets (except shuttle bus inside the park- 20¥ extra), a rain coat, 2 oxygen cans, transport between Lijiang (pick up at hotel) and Snow Mountain, and a small hot pot lunch. Tours can be booked all around Lijiang, and it's easy to find an agent. It can also be booked online. The Mountain is quite spectacular, but unfortunately i don't have great photos, as it was incredibly misty that day. Blue Moon Valley is beautiful, and one can spend some time walking next to the river and enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views. It is rich in natural beauty and cultural history. Getting There - Didi/Taxi 1 hour. 80rmb each way. They checked our health codes and PCR tests at the entrance. 20rmb bus from the waiting area to Blue Moon Valley. It's a 6km journey. Attractions - Blue Moon Valley, Jade Dragon Mountain, Glacier Park. Different ticket options are available. The cable car tickets were sold out so we bought the Blue Moon Valley ticket. Hotels - Easy to stay in Lijiang and travel from there Food & Restaurants - There are some fast food restaurants at the station for the cable car and bus to Blue Moon Valley. Also some small stalls at the valley viewpoints to buy snacks. Shopping - There are some shops at the cable car/bus stop to buy souvenirs, oxygen tanks etc. #lakes#culturalattraction#tigeryear2022

it's easy to get there with taxi and very convenient, around 30 minutes cost 80rmb ticket fee is 100 rmb, then there's additional 20 rmb for the internal bus the place super nice, even with weather not so good, it's a place worth to visit. the water has super nice color #naturalwonders#waterfall#nationalpark#lakes

Blue Moon Valley|Feast for the Eyes
Blue Moon Valley, also called as "Baishui He" by locals, lies at the east side of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and is part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Park. The valley is famous for it's super blue water(melt snow water from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain), and the crescent-shaped valley, thus got its name: Blue Moon Valley. And it's believed to the origin of James Hilton's "Lost Horizon".
