Taipei|The cherry blossom tunnel is coming to an end. Bishanyan has a beautiful view of Taipei and the legend of the founding temple
The spring thunder roars, everything grows, and the cherry blossoms on the steps of Engaku-ji Temple are also blown down to the ground. The beautiful view of the cherry blossom tunnel will have to be seen early next year.
But it would be a shame if you don't visit Kaizhang Shengwang Temple when you come to Bishanyan. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of Greater Taipei, including the Tamsui River, Liyu Mountain, Taipei 101, Xinyi District, Songshan Airport, and the Grand Hotel. The best place to view the view is in front of the Tiangonglu.
Speaking of the Kaizhang Shengwang Temple in Bishanyan, it is said that the residents living in Baishishu at that time would hear the crowing of roosters from the spire every morning. But that area had been uninhabited for a long time. One day, when residents went to check it out, they found that there was incense sticks of Kaizhang Shengwang hanging on a stone. Finally, several big families in Baishishu raised funds and built the Kaizhang Shengwang Temple to protect the safety of the residents.
Another rural legend is that during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, bandits were rampant. One day when the bandits were about to rob a house, a golden light suddenly appeared on the mountain, and a large rock broke into three pieces. The bandits were so scared that they retreated. The three large stones are regarded as the Kaizhang Holy King and the two generals.
Today, the main temple enshrines the Holy King of Kaizhang and Generals Li Boyao and Ma Ren. Because he was a farmer in Neihu area in his early years, the side hall enshrines the God of Fortune and prays for a good harvest from the land god.
