In February, Yantai is still in winter, but the sun is shining, and there is already a hint of warmth. The lighthouse on Yantai Mountain stands quietly, overlooking the city and the sea; Binhai Road is winding and long, with the endless sea on one side and lush mountains and forests on the other; the streets and alleys are filled with the fresh fragrance of mackerel dumplings and seaweed buns, and the combination of tradition and fashion makes every corner exude a unique charm that is fascinating. 🚗 Transportation Guide ✈️ Plane: After arriving at Yantai Penglai International Airport, there are airport buses to various bustling areas in the city, and you can also transfer to buses or taxis. Located on the coastal square on the east side of Yantai Mountain Scenic Area, Yantai Art Museum not only has a great location (the sea is right in front of the north gate, see photos 11 and 12), but also has a lot to see inside. The first and second floors recently held an oil painting exhibition by local Yantai artists, attracting many visitors. Photo 9 shows the Ideal Bookstore inside the art museum, where you can sit and have a coffee. The oil painting in photo 6 shows the view of Yantai Mountain from east to west, and the bottom of photo 6 shows the entrance to Yantai Mountain Scenic Area, which I just passed by, so it looks particularly familiar. The work in photo 7 is called "Nostalgia for the Moon," and the torn old newspapers and splattered paint attracted many people to take a closer look. The little girl in photo 2 and her family were not interested in the oil paintings by the artists, but in the pet photography books in the Ideal Bookstore.

Binhai Square is connected to the Hongkou 1920 Micro-vacation Historical and Cultural Street in the east, the Changyu Wine Culture Museum in the west, and the Yantai Shimao Hilton Hotel in the south. There used to be a large area of old-style western-style houses, a large road market, Yantai No. 8 Middle School, and a fisheries school. If there was no rush to demolish and build large squares and tall buildings, it would be a different scene now. The first four pictures are in the east, pictures five to nine are in the middle of the square, and the rest are in the west of the square, near the Changyu Wine Culture Museum. There is a Floral Hotel Republic No. 7 B&B (Binhai Square) near the playing cats.

October 26th and 27th were the days when the New Youth Music Festival was held. The performances were held from afternoon to evening, so many people went to Yantai Mountain to play in the morning. Compared to the calm weather on the 26th, the weather on the 27th had more autumn atmosphere. The sea turned green and the waves were surging. Taking photos with the waves crashing against the shore was also a great pleasure. The first seven pictures are located to the east of Yantai Golden Bay Hotel and to the west of Binhai Plaza, which is closest to Yantai Mountain. The last six pictures are of the eastern part of the Marina Square, and the last picture is of the Island Diary (No. 1 Beach Branch) on the north side of the Hongkou 1920 Micro-Vacation Historical and Cultural Block facing the sea, which is the farthest from Yantai Mountain.

Climbing up the lighthouse to overlook the whole Yantai's mountains, sea, city, and port is a must! 😜 Chaoyang Street: A European-style retro street with many old buildings, super photogenic! 😎 Don't forget to check in at Rongxiang Seafood, where the ingredients are fresh and the taste is amazing! Yantai Binhai Square: A great place to feed seagulls, right out of Chaoyang Street. Haichang Fisherman's Wharf: Like a fairytale town, it also has a seaside track similar to the one in 'Spirited Away'. Nan Hong Street Night Market: On the way back to the hotel, night markets are more or less the same, but what left a deep impression was a cold snack called spicy chicken that I haven't seen anywhere else 😝 PS: Since I was traveling with my mom, we didn't leave until 4 PM after a nap. If you're energetic, you can visit other attractions in the same direction as the Fisherman's Wharf, see P2 for details. Day3⃣: Yangma Island - Xinyang Restaurant - Yantai👉Nanjing Yangma Island: The jelly-like clear sea, most of the photo spots on Yangma Island are on the west coast. No need for navigation, just head to where there are lots of cars and people. Half a day is enough. The Xinyang Restaurant on the island is very famous and was the best meal of the trip! 😋 Experience Summary: 1⃣ The airport is very far from the city center, so it's recommended to travel by high-speed rail. 🚄 2⃣ Choose to stay in Zhifu District, where the facilities are complete and it's convenient to go anywhere. We stayed at an old-brand five-star hotel, right next to Yantai Mountain, Chaoyang Street, and Binhai Square. You can see the sea from the bed, and there's even a hotel-exclusive viewing platform to watch the sunrise at sea! The price is also affordable. 😃 3⃣ The key to the jelly sea of Yangma Island is the weather and tides. The sea is bluer on sunny days, and the jelly effect is best during the high tide of the active tide. The tide times vary every day, and if you don't know how to read a tide table, just ask the owner of the electric car rental shop. 5⃣ The ring road around Yangma Island is a counterclockwise one-way street and can get congested. It's best to rent an electric car near Tianma Square, usually 💰50 yuan with no time limit. 6⃣ The seafood in Yantai is especially fresh and the portions are generous! Be careful with how much you order! I think the sea intestine rice is just average (maybe my expectations were too high), 💰158 per serving, not as delicious as ordinary fish, shrimp, and crab. 😜 Come to Yantai for a wonderful trip!
