Bingding Chaiyao Art Museum was designed by the famous contemporary architect Zhang Lei. It is currently a demonstration base for the productive protection of intangible cultural heritage in Jiangxi Province and a demonstration base for the productive protection of intangible cultural heritage in Jingdezhen City.Bing Ding Chai Yao means "the kiln fire is the soul of porcelain". The word Bing Ding comes from the five elements. Bing fire is yang, like the sun's rays, full of energy radiating outward. Ding fire is feminine, like moonlight or candlelight, introverted and harmonious, and gentle yet perfect. The combination of the two implies that the aura of porcelain comes from the forging of the two-phase balance. The kiln consists of two parts: the kiln and the kiln room. The construction of the kiln does not rely on architectural drawings, nor is there any written record. The construction was completed by Mr. Yu Hezhu and his apprentices in two months. It is a hyperbolic shape with a handmade feel but not completely refined. The egg-shaped kiln built with handmade kiln bricks can withstand1100Celsius to1300Celsius high temperature. The kiln hall is used to fill the kiln, pile pine wood, light the fire, burn the kiln, and open the kiln. It and the second floor of the side corridor are usually used as exhibition spaces for art museum works. With the changes of the times and the endangered disappearance of traditional crafts, this kiln has been endowed with special cultural and symbolic significance. This space is like a temple, creating a sacred ritual sense for the act of firing porcelain.Bingding Chai Kiln is committed to inheriting and developing the culture of Chai Kiln. It not only has a professional team of traditional handmade porcelain making skills, traditional Chai Kiln handmade construction skills, but also a complete team with rich experience in traditional Chai Kiln firing skills. Since its establishment, it has been based on traditional wood-fired firing skills and pioneering and innovative, attracting many sculptors, modern ceramic artists and domestic and foreign artists to come to the site for resident creation, thus building an international wood-fired base, and also attracting many tourists to visit and experience the production of wood-fired pottery, adding new features and artistic atmosphere to the development of Chai Kiln.
