Bijarim-ro refers to the road between Pyongdae-ri, Gujo-eup, Jeju City, and Bonggae-dong, with a total length of 27.3km. The trees between the roads are lush, the green forests and the silver-white violet flowers form a rippling area. A magnificent landscape with natural charm, it is not only a representative road of Jeju Island, but also a place with relatively well-preserved nature. Walking on the Torreya Forest Road, the surroundings are very quiet, breathing the fragrance of the mountains and forests, and admiring the beautiful scenery in the forests, it is really a wonderful enjoyment, and more and more people come here. There are many pastures along the road of Torreya Forest. With Halla Mountain and the parasitic volcano as the background, horses and cows graze quietly under the blue sky and white clouds, or lie lazily on the grassland and enjoy the warm sunshine, so comfortable. JEJU BIJARIM FOREST.

In the Jeju dialect, got means forest and jawal means bush. Together, gotjawal signifies the diverse plants that grow atop land formed following a volcanic eruption. Bijarim, a Jeju gotjawal, is home to 2,900 nutmeg trees ranging from 500 to 800 years old. The entire forest has been designated as a natural monument. Two walking courses, one shorter and one longer, comprise the Bijarim Exploration Course over volcanic ash and clay that is easy to walk on. On either course, visitors will pass the New Millennium Nutmeg Tree that is over 800 years old and two entwined trees called the Love Nutmeg. Visit on a rainy day for even more picturesque scenery

#koreatrip Bijarim let us have a refreshing walk, surrounded by trees of 500-800 years. I enjoyed the serenity, unique kinds of bird chirping, and the smell of Bijarim only nature can provide. We also saw a tree that was planted in 12th century, and it was unbelievable to see how the tree can endure such a time. It is also an easy walk, as there is no uphill and no scorching sun directly at your face.
