Historic buildings
The Grand Blue Building is the landmark of Zhang's Mansion. It was built between 1918 and 1922. It is an imitation Romanesque building. Because it was built with blue bricks, it was called the Grand Blue Building. The Grand Blue Building is 37 meters high and was one of the highest points in Fengtian City at that time. The overall building is magnificent, with vivid three-dimensional reliefs on the outside and exquisite craftsmanship. The murals in the main rooms inside are decorated with unique techniques and have high artistic value. The Grand Blue Building integrates office and residence. As an important office place during the period when Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang, father and son, ruled the Northeast, it has experienced major historical events such as the two Zhili-Fengtian Wars, the Northeast Flag Change, the execution of Yang and Chang, and the armed mediation of the Central Plains War. The Tiger Hall here has to be mentioned. A pair of tigers (specimens) stand side by side. The "tigers" were originally given to Zhang Zuolin, the "King of the Northeast" by his subordinate Tang Yulin. It was the place where Yang Yuting and Chang Yinhuai were executed at that time. It was named because there were tigers in the hall. One of the tiger specimens is now kept in Shenyang Tongze Middle School, and the other has disappeared because it was not properly preserved. This place contains rich historical connotations and is a witness and epitome of the modern history of Northeast China.

The Marshal's Mansion is so luxurious!
The Marshal's Mansion is so luxurious! After visiting the Shenyang Imperial Palace and the Marshal's Mansion, you will understand what it means to be the King of the Northeast. The European-style Qinglou, the Marshal's Ballroom, and the Young Marshal's Mansion, the traditional Chinese-style courtyard, and the Xiaoqinglou. Exquisite stone carvings can be seen everywhere, and the luxury is reflected in the details. The house he lived in after going to the United States looks like a village house 😂. I like the sofa in the Marshal's Mansion the most. After I got home, I suddenly found that my house actually has a tile of the same style as the Marshal's Mansion P9.

When autumn meets the Republic of China style, you get the Shuai Mansion's Big Green Building.
The Shuai Mansion has two famous green brick buildings, one of which is the imposing European-style Big Green Building. The Big Green Building was the highest point in Fengtian City during the Republic of China period, with magnificent three-dimensional reliefs on the exterior, making it a classic of the time. It is located in the courtyard on one side of the Shuai Mansion, contrasting with the Chinese-style courtyard building on the other side of the wall. The courtyard of the Big Green Building has a large garden with tall rockeries, trees, and small waterfalls. The door on the south side of the rockery is inscribed with a plaque written by Zhang Zuolin, and passing through the rockery and up the steps, you enter the building, which was the office of Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang, a place of great events during the Republic of China period, where many important events took place, including the execution of Yang Yuting and two other Fengxi bigwigs in the Tiger Hall. In addition to historical events, the building also houses Zhang Xueliang's collection of paintings, calligraphy, and porcelain, and interestingly, the exhibits also include Mickey Mouse elements that Zhang Xueliang liked.

Zhang Xueliang's former residence, Daqing Building.
Daqing Building was completed in 1922 and is a Roman-style building. It is named Daqing Building because it is built with blue bricks. It has three floors above ground and one floor underground. It was the tallest building in Shenyang at that time.
Daqing Building was an important place for Zhang Xueliang to work and live during his administration in the Northeast. Major historical events such as the Northeast Flag Change, the execution of Yang and Chang (in the Tiger Hall), and the armed mediation of the Central Plains War were planned or occurred here.
The exterior of Daqing Building is eye-catching, elegant and generous, and the interior decoration, furniture, and furnishings are luxurious and extraordinary, which is not comparable to ordinary people. The first floor mainly has the Tiger Hall (where two tiger specimens were placed), the original mansion office, the original Northeast Government Affairs Committee office, banquet hall, etc. The second floor has Zhang Xueliang's office, Zhang Xueliang and Yu Fengzhi's bedroom and living room, Zhang Xueliang's collection room, and Zhang Xueliang's later life exhibition, etc. The third floor is mainly Zhang Luying's living room and bedroom, etc.
