Trip to Berlin 🇩🇪
We recently visited Berlin, Germany. If you’re an animal lover and photography enthusiast, I highly recommend exploring the city’s two incredible zoos. Our first stop was the Berlin Zoological Garden, located near the famous Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. This zoo is home to over 20,000 animals from around the globe, and its central location makes it a perfect starting point for an animal-centric day. We found the best time to visit was in the early morning when the animals are more active, and the light is perfect for capturing stunning photographs 📸 of creatures like giant pandas 🐼 polar bears🐻❄️ and rare birds 🦅 The zoo’s lush greenery and iconic enclosures also make it a photographer’s paradise.

We also explored Tierpark Berlin, located in the former East Berlin, which is a much larger zoo with over 7,000 animals. We recommend visiting this zoo in the afternoon, especially if you want to catch great photos 📸 of the big herbivores like elephants 🐘 and giraffes🦒 as they tend to be more relaxed during the midday hours. Tierpark’s vast landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for wide-angle shots, and the serene atmosphere lets you take your time and snap some candid moments of the animals without the usual crowd.

Both zoos have unique offerings, but what stands out most is the variety of animal experiences you can have. At the Berlin Zoological Garden, we encountered some of the most iconic and endangered species, while Tierpark Berlin gave us a chance to see animals in more spacious, naturalistic settings. Whether you’re in it for the animal encounters or the perfect Instagram shots, we thoroughly enjoyed both and would highly recommend adding them to your Berlin itinerary!
