[2025 Johor Bahru Stay] Travel Guide for Berjaya Waterfront Hotel (Updated Jun)

My stay in BWH was originally from 25th-28th June 2023. I chose the high floor Deluxe Sea View room for my work & silent retreat. I was given such an awesome room that I extended my stay till the 30th. Though the room is a little dated & the safe box was not in operation, I was glad the important amenities like hot water, mini fridge, and WC were all functioning very well. Despite a slight ta-da-ta-da sound from the aircon dart, a didi-didi-didi sound from the table digital control gadget, I was too overjoyed with the spacious clean room and the awesome sea view that those minor sounds weren't affecting me. I literally could stay indoors the whole day. The hotel staff from Reception, Concierge, Housekeeping, Cafe & Kitchen crew, poolside Maintenance Supervisor & workers have been very friendly, warmth and helpful. Mr Dinanath, a concierge staff from Nepal, has been extremely helpful to me & with his professional attitude & passion, he is a gem in the Hospitality Industry. I also had the privilege of getting to know the GM, Mr Loovi, on my last day. It's rare to meet a very humble, friendly, genuinely warmth, helpful, meticulous, and service-yet-people-orientated GM in the Hospitality Industry nowadays. 👍 Being a rare solo female traveller (though a seasoned one esp to Msia & having tried many hotels in JB), I must say that everyone I encountered in BWH has contributed to creating great memories in my trip. It's like being in a 2nd home, away from home. The breakfast spread was good enough for someone who has given up on waking early for many hotels' breakfast offers. Pls don’t expect an array of 50 dishes. It is not a buffet lunch/dinner. The spread is in a good portion enough for you to skip lunch! My favourite dishes are Kari Ayam, Nasi Lemak, Porridge, Mini Ayam Sausages, Fried Mee & Watermelons. Thankfully, the coffee is satisfying to my particular standard 😉 The hotel is huge & I was glad there is a quiet lounge area by the Salt n Pepper Cafe where I could spend 2 hours in silent retreat, looking out beyond the Straits of Johor. The staff in MeiSan Szechuan Restaurant are very friendly too. The view from the open pool at level 7 is breathtaking; making me feel as if I'm on top of a castle 🫠 I love the fact that the polished granite made the interior of the hotel still standing grand. As travellers, it is often too easy to travel like a Police Inspector, always looking out for flaws to raise. If we want hotel standards to be like our homes, then travelling is not for us. If we think we are entitled to everything pose just cos the Hotel's is 4*-5* - yet we are paying a decent room rates - then we ought to just opt for the top notch hotels. The key factors as a traveller are: be realistic, be gracious, be appreciative, be nice (if something isn't working well & u need help), and be adaptable. At least, BWH is working hard on improving their standards especially after the long pandemic. Where Berjaya Group is concerned, many of us know their attention to service standards, won't go wrong. Had a relaxing stay at Berjaya Hotel, Johor. Enjoyed delicious nasi bujang at night and nasi ayam penyet for lunch near Stulang. A nearby mosque made prayer easy. Evening strolls along the beach with views of Tambak Johor and Singapore were the perfect end to the day. Can see the pool view from level 10 where we checked in at. If you are going with friends, so this is a good place to checked in at.

The hotel has an old-school charm, and although some areas show signs of aging, the staff more than made up for it with warm hospitality. My room had a stunning view of the Straits of Johor, which made mornings especially calming. It’s connected to a duty-free shopping complex, which was super convenient for quick buys and snacks. The location near the ferry terminal and city center is a plus. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the essentials for a short stay. It’s a good option for travelers looking for affordability, convenience, and a bit of waterfront charm.

#johorbahrutrip Great service all around - attentive, warm and friendly staffs, also super helpful and very prompt. i have been coming here since i was a kid, always loved the magnificent interior, just transports me to a dreamworld.. the rooms are always clean during our stays and the location is great with quite a number of food establishments available nearby the hotel. sea view rooms are great as you can see Singapore really close by! but a side note, would be best to get a room on a higher floor for sea view as you could hear the night happenings from the hotel club. when we stayed on level 11, you can still hear the thumping, but when we stayed on higher levels, it was ok. so yeah, that, or get a city view room instead! 88, Jalan Ibrahim Sultan, Taman Stulang Laut, 80300 Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Ta'zim, Malaysia

Dec sch holiday we brought our 3 lovely child to here! just cross Singapore. the hotel is huge, the room is huge too! We love it there is pantry, bathtub, and dinning table. The view was superb, wake up to the sea.

Just end a short trip to Johor, we had fun and freely enjoyed shopping, makan, and staying. city square, temple, R&F to take a bus, walking the beach side, looking at the woodlands. Johor has a lot of places I haven't travelled yet @berjaya waterfront hotel is the best hotel I am staying in now. It is because inside the feeling like heaven. and feel like I live in another world that experienced.

Just stay in JB to relax, it is next to the pier to Batam Island, old and broken hotel, the staff is very nice, there are seafood restaurants around~ If you don’t want to queue up at popular restaurants, it’s also good to order takeout~#Travel Inspiration

Amazing Berjaya hotel and staff at jb

Nice surrounding with plentiful amenities. Helpful front desk. Clean and nice place to stay. Massage palace I think it’s at 7 floor, Shanghai club is at 5th floor, open till 4am. Right next to the hotel at ground floor there are many small bars and another big club. A good place for night life. Outside the duty free zone there are more local eating places to explore. Recommended.

#freehotelstay My son and I had one night short stay at this Berjaya Waterfront hotel to attend 1 funtion held at Berjaya Waterfron Ballroom. The location of this hotel is verybsstrategic if you want to explore Johor Bahru, and the interesting part is it is accessaible with short trip to the the neighbour countries, indonesia (Batam or few i donesian reagion via ferry at this walking distance hotel ferry terminal) or Singapore (via public transport/30min selfdriving) The reservation /lobby is not too big and fancy but it was very smooth and short for the such the big hotel. Hotel surround is fantastic. It has large open lounge with live band. The ballroom which I was attended the function is very big and I think it can accommodate around 1000people in 1 time. so ot is very recommended place if you are looking to have a big function with nice vibe and waterfront view hotel. Deluxe polo view room, is comfort and big. I had a room with sea view (selat tebrau view). The best part is the freedutyzone shopping- The ZON. We enjoying short stay and shopping so much.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was fantastic from the moment I arrived. The hotel's lobby was welcoming, and the staff at the front desk were friendly. Stayed at Berjaya Waterfront JB seaview room. Good view of the sea and the Singapore side. The room was old and needs renovation. No box of tissue provided In the room.

This hotel is good in condition in term of room but for building itself need major renovations and need to keep the good looks. For front office staff need to put more station of registration as the situation during check in its to slow even you have more than 3 staffs working at there one time. Please keep the good flow and keep the building nice and goods.
