✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ Tips
🎫About tickets
Free for those under 15 and guests staying at Benesse House.
I don't think they will sell out, but for smooth entry, I recommend purchasing online.
You can purchase this just before entering,
so it's ok to purchase online at the museum entrance just before.
However, you cannot log in to purchase unless you are a Benesse member (free), so it takes time to register. There are also surveys, so it's a good idea to register in advance🙆♀️
If you register on the boat🚢 to Naoshima, you can make good use of your time!
There are about three other places where you can't go unless you purchase a ticket as a Benesse member,
so if you're going to Naoshima or Teshima, you must register as a member👍
🚗About parking
There is no dedicated parking lot, and bicycles, cars, and city buses cannot enter the area where the museums are located on the Benesse House side.
You need to park your motorcycle or bicycle at the bicycle parking lot in front of the section and walk there, or take the Benesse shuttle bus that goes around the section. It's free.
However, the bus runs about once every 40 minutes, so be sure to check the timetable.
By the way, if there are many people waiting in line, you may not be able to get on and may have to wait for the next bus.
🚎 About transportation
For moving around the island,
・Bus
・Bicycle
・Car
・Motorcycle
The most recommended way is to use a bicycle. In rainy weather, the bus is recommended. It costs 100 yen per trip.
However, there is only one bus per hour, and it is about the size of a shuttle bus, so you can't get many people on it.
When using the bus, there are surprisingly many waiting lines, so you may not be able to get on even if you are in line and have to wait for the next one.
In that case, it will take about an hour. Since you will stay at each place, it will take a long time to get to the last stop.
In addition, people will be packed into the entrance steps, so even on weekdays it will be as crowded as a crowded train in Tokyo. It takes a long time, so if you are short on time, I don't recommend the bus.
If you don't make a reservation first thing in the morning, all the geared or electric bikes will be rented and you won't be able to rent one.
Even if you don't have gears, the only bikes left are small sports bikes, so if you're not confident in your physical strength or aren't used to riding, you'll probably find it tiring to rent a bike.
If you want to rent a bike, make sure you make a reservation.
The price is about 1,500 yen per bike.
Cars are generally not recommended as there are no parking lots.
⚠Notes
There are more people than you'd think!
In other words, be prepared for inconveniences such as crowded buses and not being able to rent a bike on the day.
Even if you're in line for the bus, if you're not at the front of the queue, you may have to wait an hour to get on. If that happens, you may not be able to make it in time for the boat to depart.
Make sure you have plenty of time and keep the timetable in mind.
Also, it looks like you'll be walking a lot.
Comfortable shoes are recommended!
