Located in beautiful Vienna (Austria) definitely one of the must visit places! 💯 I took a long walk from Vienna City Center and enjoy the whole walk. Walking here is lovely as the Belvedere is located on a small slope over the city and while climbing up you will go through some impressive gardens with a large pond in which you could see a reflection of the sky and the palace. The Belvedere is not only a magnificent Baroque palace but also houses one of Austria's most valuable art collections – with key works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka. Klimt's "The Kiss" in particular is world-famous. The 180 x 180 cm painting was created in 1908/09 and shows Klimt and his friend Emilie Flöge as a couple in love. "The Kiss" is probably Austria's most famous work of art. Klimt's portraits of women also impress and be marveled at in the Upper Belvedere. A one day trip to Vienna

we set out for a day trip to Vienna with my sister we arrived late in a Saturday evening, went to bed straight away, and woke up early in the morning to have time to cover everything we wanted. The hotel was right next to the station, so the trip from the airport took less than an hour all together, and was close to the city centre too. We went to see the orthodox church, had a breakfast in a bakery, spent a few hours in the Belvedere palace to see The Kiss by Klimt then had lunch, went to see Chagall exhibition at the Albertina (excellently organised btw), had another patisserie break, and then rushed to the Freud museum shop (we wouldnt'thave time for the museum itself). Had schnitzel for dinner, and walked back to the city centre for the string quartet concert, now writing this review from the airport. We could have done with more time, but we saw everything we wanted, and had an excellent one day weekend break; really recommend it.##vienna #klimt 🕰️Business Hours:📍Address:

The Kiss in Belvedere museum

#museums We visited Belvedere museum mainly to see the 'The Kiss' by Klimt. We brought a ticket for the upper and lower levels which cost €20 per adult. There was plenty of exhibits, and the main being the “The Kiss" by Klimt. There is a selfie point in the entrance hall for you to take a selfie with a kiss portrait. However, for the rest of the museum there was no photography allowed inside. Having said that, if you are a young attractive female, then you could get away with taking photos inside the museum, as the staff just stood by and watched and did nothing. If you wasn't a young attractive female though and tried to take photos they would walk up to you and tell you that photography is not allowed. The gardens themselves are not much to look at. Not kept well, grass was very dry and dying, as were the few flowers we saw and plenty of weeds everywhere. Nothing compared to the colourful gardens at Schonbrunn. There is a small cafe restaurant in the Upper belvedere which was very reasonable priced for where it was and did some great cakes and food. #100WaysOfTravel

Buying tickets online was so convenient, as the queue for buying tickets on site was too long, while there was no one in the online channel, and I walked in smoothly. This was the fastest time I have ever bought tickets for a tourist attraction in Europe. The Schönbrunn Palace is a historic complex of buildings, divided into upper and lower palaces with a garden in between. It is a Baroque-style power supply, formerly the summer residence of Prince Eugene, and now the Austrian National Museum of Art, one of the world's most important museums of art collections. The lower palace is a museum of medieval and Baroque art.
