Lisbon | 8 Gorgeous Photo Spots! (With Locations)
📍Bica Funicular - Lg. Calhariz, Funicular da Bica (p2)
The Bica Funicular is a bit different from the Santa Justa Lift, as it's a little yellow tram that climbs up the hill. This location is at the top end of the slope, where you can walk down slowly and see a yellow tram pass by every few minutes 🚡. Standing on the slope, you can capture the distant sea and two yellow trams appearing at the same time, or find a crossroad to take a side shot of the tram passing by, which is very beautiful!
📍Praça Dom Pedro IV (p3)
There are several flower shops in front of the square, where vendors sell colorful fresh flowers 💐, and the jacarandas on both sides are blooming splendidly. Such scenery leaves me at a loss for words.
📍O Adriano Restaurant (p4/5)
We discovered this place on our way from Praça Dom Pedro IV to the Bica Funicular. Along the way, you can see the monument of Dom Pedro IV and the distant São Jorge Castle. The location is a restaurant!
📍Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau (p6)
This picture was taken on the street next to this restaurant. You can directly locate this restaurant and walk down the road to reach the Commerce Square and the Arch of Triumph.
📍Miradouro de Santa Luzia (p7)
This viewpoint does not require an entrance fee and is quite crowded. Follow the way up from the Lisbon Cathedral, and I recommend visiting at sunset 🌇 to see the distant sea.
📍Largo do Correio Mor (p8)
We took photos from the top of the slope, where the jacarandas are really photogenic, and there's also a spiral staircase that makes for great shots!
📍Belém Tower (p9)
We took photos from the park behind the Belém Tower using a telephoto lens, and it's super beautiful!

Medieval Fortified Tower in Belem, PORTUGAL 🇵🇹
#timetotravel
I visited the Belem Tower after its opening hours so I was not able to go in an only looked at it from the outside. But nonetheless, I believe it was still worth visiting and taking pictures with it on the outside. It is because what are the odds you will find another historical monument by the port!!
The tower itself is truly beautiful and is a well maintained historical monument.
Definitely worth a visit when you are in Lisbon. There are also loads of cafe and restaurants near by if you want to take a break from exploring.

Belem Beauty
Visit Belem where you can see the ponte 25 de Abril and de Cristo Rei. You can also see the historical monuments such as the Padrao de Descobrimentos and Torre de Belem. To follow this up you can eat the best pastel de Belem at the cafe where they have been making it since 1837.Fun fact: the real name of the tart is pastel de Belem. Only pastries that come out of their ovens can be called pastéis de Belém, otherwise if manufactured by a third party it has to be called pastel de nata. To follow this amazing experience you can even take a boat trip across the channel to see the beauty of Belem .

#celebratewithtrip
Belem Tower is located in Av Brasilia, 1400-038 Lisboa, and open Tuesday to Sunday 1000-1730, close on Monday. Trams: 15 ( stop near Torre de Belem ), is around 750 meters 12 minutes walk from the tram station.
Belem Tower is a 16th century fortification that was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a baston and a 30 meters four storey tower. Constructed on the northern bank of the Tagus River, this tower was used to defend the city, later it was transformed into a lighthouse and custom house. The ground floor of this architectural jewel has 16 windows with cannons. The tower has five floors which lead to a roof terrace by a small and narrow spiral staircase, when on the busiest day, you have to wait for your turn to climb up or descend.
It was classified as a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO.

The most famous attraction in the Belem district of Lisbon must-have: Belm Tower.
Belem Tower, one of the world's cultural heritages, has a very important historical and strategic significance in the history of Lisbon, and it has also been named one of Portugal's seven wonders.
Come here early in the morning, there are already many tourists around Belm Tower, sitting on the surrounding lawns and steps in twos and threes, and the Belem Tower has already started long queues, waiting to enter.
Belm Tower was built between 1514 and 1520 during Manuel I. It was first used to defend the port of Belm. Now there are many barrels that have been preserved in the past. Cultural relics of the 16th century. Later, the Belm Tower gradually transformed into a beacon, the starting point for Portuguese navigators to explore the unknown ocean at that time. Later, it became a jail that was held in custody. You can feel the gloomy atmosphere of the dungeon when you enter the tower.
There are several lookout windows and balconies around the tower. Although the history is long, the walls made of stone are still well preserved. The exquisite craftsmanship of the year is clearly visible. Entering the tower requires a wooden bridge, and the Belem Tower at the high tide seems to float above the sea. Belm Tower was officially recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by the International UNESCO in 1983. In 2007, it was named one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and has a history of more than 500 years. Although it is called a tower, it is more like a fortress. It is guarded on the coast of Lisbon and witnesses the glory and glory of Lisbon.

When you come to Lisbon, you must go to see the product of the great maritime era - Belm Tower. In the past maritime era, it was the place to sail and return to the voyage. Whenever you return to the voyage, you can see the Belem Tower. The sailors will be very happy.
Belm Tower is not only a classic landmark of the port of Portugal, but also a symbol of Lisbon. It has witnessed the long-distance and departure of countless ships in Portugal during the Great Navigation era, returning and reuniting.
In 1983, Belm Tower was officially recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by the International UNESCO. In 2007, it was named one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal.

Lisbon: The Enchanting Coastal Hub
Lisbon is an incredibly charming city, with every corner looking like a painting. The azure sky, the undulating hills, the continuous 30-degree slopes, and the mosaic-tiled sidewalks. The houses with low-saturation colored walls, red-tiled roofs, and balconies just the length of a foot are adorable. The culture and history of the Age of Discovery still influence the Portuguese today.
The seaside is stunning, with the flight path to Lisbon Airport right overhead, and every five minutes, you can hear the roar of airplane engines. The bridge over the river connects the main island to the giant Christ statue on the other side. The upper level of the bridge is for buses and coaches, while the lower level is for clattering trains. There are always different boats passing on the river, including Viking cruises, various cargo ships, sightseeing boats, yachts, and slender sailboats. People stroll along the coast, some lying down or sitting, and the only recommended mode of transportation along the shore is the shared scooter. With a beer in hand, lying on a deck chair by the river, the sky splits into two: on the right is the sunset, with orange-yellow light spreading like watercolor; on the left is the full moon, hanging in the pink-purple night sky. The restaurant's DJ plays lively Latin dance music, and passersby hold the waiter's hand and dance together. It's another ordinary yet lovely summer evening.
The most magical thing about Lisbon is its transportation. In the narrow alleys and endless slopes, all kinds of vehicles mix together: old trams and new trams, sightseeing buses and tuk-tuks, buses, cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians who never seem to look at traffic lights. It seems chaotic but somehow orderly.
Lisbon's food is hit or miss. The famous century-old egg tart has a crispy crust but custard filling, so it slightly loses to Taiwan's KFC. The cream desserts are generally okay, not too sweet or greasy. The pork chop bun is delicious, even better with mustard sauce. The seafood risotto is average, cooked until it becomes soupy. The Portuguese grilled chicken is tender but salty, and the pan-fried cod with potatoes is tasty, but the fried cod chunks are ordinary (and the dipping sauce is Vietnamese sweet chili sauce?).
In the church next to the Jerónimos Monastery, a black mother kneels at the altar praying. A little boy excitedly crawls over from the back. She stops praying and rubs his head with her right hand. It takes a long time to realize that the two feet sliding on the ground are always at the same angle. It turns out the boy is not crawling around out of playfulness. Perhaps because he is still too young, he smiles happily, as if nothing is different.
On the main road leading to the tourist hotspot, an old man with his knees bent backward almost 90 degrees stands by the roadside with a bowl, greeting passersby every day. After passing by several times, I finally muster the courage to drop a coin. As it clinks, a white couple in front waves bills and shouts, "Hey, we are back!" They step back to the roadside, chatting with the old man for a long time. It occurs to me that perhaps the old man's needs are not just the obvious ones.
Lisbon is adorable, with surprises at every corner: like stumbling upon the Vuelta a España in front of the Belém Tower, finding super chill deck chairs with a first-row sea view behind the cultural center, and discovering hipster shops in small alleys. My favorite is still every little alley, never knowing if the next road will be uphill or downhill. They are always long, with the blue sea visible at the end.

Belem Tower: Portugal’s maritime history
For a small nation, Portugal’s maritime history is staggering. One place to get a real sense of this is Belem, just a 5km tram ride from the centre of Lisbon.
One of the key attractions here is the 16th century Belem tower, which served as the ceremonial gateway for explorers returning from the new world during the age of discovery.
Whilst in the area be sure to check out the joint UNESCO world heritage site of Jeronimos monastery and the home of the orginal Pastel De Nata, Pasteis de Belem

Spent a day exploring Belém in Lisbon, and it was absolutely packed with history and culture! 🏰 First stop was the iconic Jerónimos Monastery. The entrance fee was €10, but it was worth every cent – the intricate Manueline architecture and the serene cloisters were just stunning. Right next to it is the famous Pastéis de Belém bakery, where I had to try the legendary custard tarts. 🥮 There was a line, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!
Afterwards, I walked down to the Belém Tower, a 16th-century fortress on the river. The entrance fee was €6, and climbing to the top gave me an amazing view over the Tagus River 🌊. The nearby Monument to the Discoveries is also a must-see, with its impressive carvings celebrating Portugal's Age of Exploration. Belém is perfect for a day trip if you're into history, architecture, and of course, delicious food. Every corner of this place feels like a step back in time. #trip #Belém #Lisbon #Portugal #History #TravelDiaries

Lisbon city break 🗺️

Just got back from an amazing city break in Lisbon, and it completely exceeded my expectations! 🥰 This city has such a cool vibe with its mix of old-world charm and modern energy. I spent hours wandering through the narrow streets of Alfama, stumbling upon hidden cafes and listening to Fado music drifting from open windows 🎶. One of the highlights was taking Tram 28 (€3), which rattles through the historic neighborhoods – it's a bit touristy but totally worth it for the views and experience.
I also visited the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery; both are stunning and steeped in history. The combo ticket for both sites was €12, which felt like a good deal. The Pasteis de Belém is nearby, so of course, I had to try the famous custard tarts, and they did not disappoint! 🥮 The city’s nightlife was fantastic too, especially in the Bairro Alto area where bars and clubs spill out onto the streets. Lisbon is definitely a city I want to revisit. #trip #Lisbon #CityBreak #TravelPortugal #Wanderlust #LisboaAdventures

Trip to Portugal
On a whim in April 2024, I decided to visit Portugal. I booked a flight and my first stop was Porto. After landing, I booked a ride online to pick me up. The driver was very nice and took me to my destination, a lovely Airbnb located next to the metro in the city center. The house was amazing and conveniently located. After dropping off my luggage, I went to the nearby São Bento Train Station to buy a ticket for the next day. The station was stunning, with familiar blue and white tiles on the walls, and I couldn't resist taking many photos. For dinner, I chose a spot next to the Luís I Bridge, where I enjoyed street performances while eating. The next day, I walked across the Luís I Bridge to visit the famous Porto wine cellars and taste the renowned Porto wine. It was a perfect day. On the third day, I headed to Lisbon. To be honest, although Lisbon is the capital, I preferred Porto. In Lisbon, I visited famous landmarks like the Belém Tower and took the iconic Tram 28. These sights can be covered in a day. I also spent a day visiting the nearby town of Sintra, known for Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, where 'the land ends and the sea begins.' Overall, I highly recommend a trip to Portugal! I would love to explore it more deeply in the future!

Belém Tower
Visiting Belém Tower in Lisbon, Portugal was an amazing experience. 🏰 Located on the banks of the Tagus River, this historic tower is one of the city's highlights. The floating tower
Belém Tower was first built to defend Lisbon. Years later, it was transformed into a lighthouse and then a tourist attraction.
Inside Belém Tower, the ground floor of this architectural jewel has 16 windows with cannons. The visit also includes a tour of the pits and holes where the prisoners were thrown into, with other five floors to discover.
During my visit to Belem, we took the train from Lisbon Port. I suggest going there just before the sunset, because the view is magnificent, you can see from the photos. I did not go inside the tower, but if you are a historic adic, I suggest going in.
