Beitou, the land of hot springs, Taipei
❤️Beitou, the land of hot springs and Taiwanese history
❤️Bentou City is a city famous for its hot springs that are very easy to travel to. The MRT stops at only 38 baht from Taipei city center. It's great for a beggar trip like us.
❤️This city used to be a prosperous gold mine city under Japanese colony. This city was just built during the time when Taiwan was under Japanese colony, around 1900, so there is a lot of Japanese atmosphere left in this city.
❤️As we all know, Japanese people are crazy about soaking in onsen or hot springs. Therefore, this city is famous for its hot springs located just outside Taipei City, making it a popular tourist destination for Taipei residents. This area is full of resorts and spas, ranging from simple to luxurious. There are public baths, foot baths, tea houses, cafes, and restaurants, all surrounded by beautiful nature.
Start your trip by getting off at Beitou Station to continue your trip on a special train that takes you directly to the hot springs.

Special train, hot spring area Xinbeitou is located at the MRT Xinbeitou Station on the pink line. Inside the train, there are seats where you can see the tourist attractions you are going to.
After getting off the train, we will find a very chic wooden library.
Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch This place used to be ranked as one of the world's most beautiful libraries. The beautiful architecture is built with wood and beautifully patterned. The outside is very shady with trees.
☔️But when we arrived, it started raining on purpose. So we didn't really walk around much. We sat to avoid the rain in front instead.
Walking a little further, we will find the Beitou Hot Spring Museum. In the past, this bathhouse was known as the Hokuto Bathhouse, named after the Japanese colony that occupied Taiwan at that time. It has now become a museum for us to learn about.
On the way to the hot spring, we will see the beauty of the water flowing through the city. It is very moist and beautiful.
This hot spring is a real natural hot spring. It is known as Hell Valley or Ghost Lake. When you enter, you will smell the sulfur clearly.
The water in the hot spring is over 100 degrees, which is too hot for the human body to bear. When you walk in, you can clearly see that the hot spring water here is a beautiful emerald green. On days when the water temperature is high and the air is cold, we will see thick mist like clouds floating above the hot spring, a beautiful sight that is very difficult to find anywhere else.
On the way back, we will see the difference between tall buildings and traditional buildings that blend together perfectly. 🌟 It is really worth coming.
