Wheel Puff Pastry Burger, Social Justice Achievable.
Restaurant: Douzi (Mong Kok)
Address: Shop No. 7, 4/F, Langham Place, 8 Argyle Street, Mong Kok
The local coffee shop Douzi, established in 2013, has expanded from a small alley shop in Tsuen Wan to branches across Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories. Six months ago, they opened a new branch in Langham Place🈺. The interior design of the shop is based on a simple and fresh Mediterranean style, creating a spacious and comfortable environment. Even though it's located next to a food court, it doesn't feel noisy or cramped💆🏻♂️. The restaurant specializes in Western light meals, desserts, and coffee, and regularly collaborates with sister stores under the same group or other brands to launch a variety of limited-time gourmet dishes🍴.
In line with the philosophy of 'taking from society, giving back to society,' they use different channels to transform customers' consumption into tips donated to various social welfare organizations🤲🏽. Recently, they have also collaborated with Cross-brand Fresh Milk, People's Association, and local tattoo artists, hoping to promote the development of local industries and culture🇭🇰. It's truly worth supporting💪.
For the lunch set or any main course on the menu, you can add appetizers, soups, snacks, or desserts😎. The Porcini Mushroom Soup (+$40) is full of the aroma of porcini mushrooms, rich but not greasy🍄; the Lobster Bisque ($44) blends the salty essence into the soup base, highlighting the sweet taste of the seafood🌊; the Kale and Quinoa Salad (+$30) is enhanced with the sweet taste of green apples and tomatoes, dressed with a sweet and sour vinaigrette, making it an excellent appetizer🥗.
✝️Eggs Benedict • Big Brown Mushroom • Wheel Puff Pastry Burger $78
For the first time, the restaurant has collaborated with a subsidiary to launch a new product🆕. Freshly baked, crispy French wheel puff pastry and English-style runny eggs Benedict are combined with juicy big brown mushrooms for a layered experience🍄. Designed like an American burger🍔, the multiple textures offer a lingering taste🤪.
✝️Australian Ribeye Steak (7oz) • Sunny-side up Eggs • Fries $168
The sliced ribeye steak is grilled to medium-rare🥩. The meat is tender with a fibrous texture and a mild beef flavor, but the juices are quite rich💦. Accompanied by two sunny-side up eggs and golden, crispy thick-cut fries, it's quite a good deal for the price👌🏽.
✝️Chocolate Mountain +$30
The snow mountain-shaped homemade dessert is quite eye-catching👀. It's mainly made of 70% dark chocolate mousse and cake, exuding a rich aroma with every bite🍫. The sweet and delicate cream and caramelized banana filling make the overall texture moister, creating a sweet and bitter taste.
Switching to other regular-priced drinks can save $8🤟🏽. The dicey Piccolo latte($28) blends a small amount of milk foam with espresso, bringing out a fragrant and deep flavor☕️. The restaurant also has a resident barista who creates unique 3D Latte Art for certain lattes at no extra charge😉. The Earl Grey Tea Latte ($36) perfectly combines the subtle aroma of tea with the rich milk flavor of Cross-brand Fresh Milk (+$3), and the adorable cat design is so cute that you'll hesitate to disturb it, taking a few more photos first📸.
