Girls traveling alone, be careful ⚠️ I was scared by the driver in Bali
🇮🇩I transited in Bali for 10 hours before going to Australia. I thought I would go to Kuta to relax and see the sea. I have been to more than 20 countries and have tried to travel alone several times. I was almost broken by the driver in Bali [disappointed R][disappointed R]
The driver who picked me up at the airport on a certain 🍊 website didn’t talk much during the whole trip, and didn’t even smile much. When he saw me, he said, are you alone? He asked me why I didn't have any luggage (I left it in storage because I had to fly to Australia later)
I told him the truth that I was flying to Australia that night, and asked me if I was going to work or live
👉🏻The road to Kuta was all small roads
Luckily it was around 12 noon and the sun was shining brightly, otherwise I would have been afraid that I would be kidnapped
I was worried all the way and kept looking at Google Maps
Suddenly I found that the car turned into a small road while driving!
I don't know if it was a shortcut or something.
The road was so narrow that after a car entered, motorcycles and bicycles could not enter.
The whole road was so quiet that it looked like a movie set, with houses on the side.
I was worried that someone would suddenly appear out of nowhere and get on the car in the next second.
At that time, I instantly imagined a hundred scenarios of being kidnapped and sold [covering face R][covering face R]
🈲The weirder operation came - when it was almost time, the driver asked me, what time do you go to the airport in the evening?
Then he said he could pick me up and asked me directly for WeChat.
I was also very curious if people here still use WeChat?
Then I asked how much it was, and the driver said 100.
I said I only paid 50 on the platform, and he said ok very readily.
(Come on! Is it okay to cut the price in half immediately?! 🤯)
The next second I immediately thought, how come WeChat transfers are still accepted in Southeast Asia?
So I asked one more question, and the driver said he would give him 100,000 yuan in cash🤔
After adding V, we agreed to pick him up at night
But I thought that the road was dark and narrow at night, so it was quite scary
Later I found a reason to turn it down and turned to grab a taxi
I met a driver who didn't speak English and used a translator to communicate with me
But he was much more friendly than the driver who didn't smile at the beginning!
On the way back to the airport, the Grab driver took a main road, which probably had two or three lanes.
Finally, it wasn't one of those dark alleys.
Thinking back to the black-faced driver at noon, I always felt weird.
⚠️ Bitter experience:
⚠️ For taxis in Southeast Asia, you should stick to regular platforms such as Grab/Bluebird.
At the same time, I want to ask a soul-searching question:
👉 Is this confusing operation of asking for WeChat, taking shortcuts, and haggling in half considered normal in Southeast Asia? ?
👉 Are there any more outrageous operations?
