Outside Banshoji Temple, there is a huge white dragon that periodically emits smoke to create a mystical atmosphere (the dragon's head is on the second floor). Next to it is the Shirayuki Inari Shrine, where you can also pay your respects. The ema (votive tablet) wall is filled with adorable foxes. Additionally, this place is a popular spot for goshuin (temple stamp) collectors. Each goshuin is incredibly beautiful and unique! They also sell large fox omamori (protective charms), which I think are worth collecting. This time, I was lucky enough to encounter the Shosei Festival, with colorful lights and taiko (drum) performances at night.

I was walking around Ōsu when I suddenly saw this attractive temple. What's interesting is that, the entrance of the temple is actually inside the shopping district which was weird. Nonetheless, it's a pretty place. This temple was built during the 1500s by Oda Nobuhide inside the then village of Nagoya. Such old history, I think that's why they just didn't relocate it and preserved it even if it's in the center of a shopping center. #wintergetaway
